ECF co-founded E-Cigarette Summit 2: Nov 13th 2014

Last year I co-founded the E-Cigarette Summit at London's Royal Society. This one-day event was a watershed in the discussion of e-cigarettes in the United Kingdom and, to a lesser extent, Europe.

The objective of the event was to have a public discussion between various experts on the issues, and to give air to as many viewpoints as possible: this was not a commercial event, and the discussions were entirely on public health and policy issues. My co-organiser, Amanda, was in charge of the programme and, as a professional conference organiser, was able to create a very balanced program.

I had no doubt that science was on our side, and that the overall message would be positive. The result was resounding, with messages going around the world press. We have archived the transcipts on vaping.com/science if you're interested.

This year the Summit is running again, almost a year to the day after the last one. Amanda has worked incredibly hard to put together what I believe is the perfect program - it's a proper belter! I will, again, post the transcripts - and am trying to work out how to live-blog the day's proceedings (any tips welcomed).

We're going to try to do a similar event in the United States in the New Year, but nothing concrete as yet.

[UPDATE]

We will be liveblogging the event starting at 9am UTC on November 13th: http://vaping.com/ecigsummit2014/live-blog

Kudos to both Amanda and yourself. I sincerely hope that we will see similar events here in the USA in the near future. They are definitely much needed here. As for broadcasting, blackboard or Skype would most likely work very well. I think the Blackboard would be the way to go.

- Oh, and in case anybody wonders why I would feel like hopping up and down: quite a number of the participants are household names among vapers here in Europe. Clive Bates, Dr. Farsalinos, Dr Jacques Le Houezec, Lorien Jollye, Louise Ross, Professor Jean Francois Etter, Professor Peter Hajek, Professor Riccardo Polosa, Professor Robert West .... OMG.. OMG.... *hops up and down* :)

I wish you all a very successful conference - and do keep us posted, please :)

Who's who in vaping... :)

Thank you all for attending and fighting for us!
