ECF needs someone from the UK forum to join the ECCA committee being set up in 2 weeks. ECCA is the UK e-cigarette consumer group.

If you would like to represent ECF on ECCA then please email me:
admin [AT] e-cigarette-forum [DOT] com

ECCA site:
E-Cigarette Consumer Association

What you need to do:
- Be present at the occasional committee meetings (normally these are expected to be once a month, but just now may be more often). These will probably be on GoToMeeting, an online meeting app, or in the ECR chatroom, in the evening.
- You will need a headset/mic to do this, although a laptop with mic/camera might do. Some meetings will be video (if you have it), some audio-only.
- Skype is also useful for discussions.
- At meetings, put your point of view across, when you wish to.
- Help with ideas and/or projects, if possible.

We need someone to take this on so please don't be shy.

I mainly hang out at All about but am a member here and UKV. The lack of interest on all forums is a bit worrying. I don't have Skype but if it's possible to join in, text only, I'm game if no one else steps up. Just a matter of deciding which forum to represent. I have very limited knowledge of the industry but am a consumer and willing to help.

Whoever becomes ECF's rep will automatically be on the ECCA committee.

Skype is free. If you already have a headset, or a laptop with a mic, that's enough to make it work. There will be plenty of chats on skype so it is vital.

The ECCA meetings will be in a chatroom of some kind (at this stage) so they don't need skype, access is via browser and mic/speakers (sometimes with camera if you have it).

Once the committee is formed, their meetings are private. General meetings are public (or public for all members, once that is organised). For full and best participation in these things you ideally need skype, firefox, a headset with mic/earphones, and a webcam - but you can get away with less.

The idea of being a representative on such an important committee at such a pivotal moment is a heart swelling one.:toast:
I have the time, I have the equipment and I know I am not afraid to voice opinions.:p
ECCAUK is going to be vital for the future of vaping in the UK.
I would gladly put myself forward but have reservations of the following type ;-

I am very new to vaping and any of the forums.:(
Nobody knows me and this leads on to -
I am worried about messing stuff up and misrepresenting people I don't know.
I have no solid experience at any committee type stuff although I have in the past been a manager, trainer etc. except a University club position a long time ago.
I have some mental and physical health problems which can make me a bit erratic at times, socially speaking.

With all this on mind I will put myself forward if nobody else objects as this is a really important thing we are trying to create.:2cool:

Feedback on this would be appreciated from a slightly nervous person but I am sure other people are more nervous, or indeed don't care enough, since they aren't putting themselves forward.

Yes, Rusty is right. People seem to want their right to use an e-cigarette protected, and they want a consumer group ensuring that vendors are held to account on quality issues - but nobody is actually going to step forward and say, "I will help". Great.

So: Vereybowring is the first to step up and say "I have the required equipment and I will help". In that case you are the de facto ECF rep VB as you are the only one to state this. Congrats!

We can skype and I'll give you any necessary info you need. Thank you.
