I've been using a nebula for a week and half now..its a really nice ecig, however what I'm not liking about it is that theres too much throat hit. It has a nice easy draw on it, but I get very little vapor and way too much throat hit. So much so it strangles me half the time and I end up coughing. I've come to the conclusion that maybe this just isn't the right ecig for me.

Can someone recommend another ecig that has loads of vapor and is easier/smoother as far as throat hit goes.

I bought some VG juice but I don't see where that helps any, so I assume its the device.. I know some of you ladies must feel the same about the throat hit..my son loves the throat thing but I'm really beginning to detest my ecig because of this.

Thanks

Cori, I was going to suggest glycerin, but you already thought of P.G.. What about cutting back on liquid..just a bit. I know if I overfil my 901, i get way too much for me...lightweight that I am. If P.G. or glycerin doesn't work, howabout P.G.? One more thing..youmentioned stuffing your own carts, I believe..maybe add a bit more stuffing to close up the air passage a bit.
I am sure somebody that has your brand has better sugestions.:thumb:

Actually I have a two piece model..the cart and atomizer are one piece. I can't restuff these, I can only drip into them. I have 3 lvls of nic juice and both pg & vg nic juice. The Nebula is a KR808D model or something like that. It all seems rather harsh on my throat, so I'm thinking its the device, not the liquids..but hey I'm new at this, what do I know lol.

Do you think a 901 would be a better starter model, and does it put out a lot of vapor? I want more vapor..less throat hit.

VAPOR VAPOR BIG FREAKING CLOUDS OF VAPOR

Before you put hard-earned dosh into a new model, I would try mixing your e-juice with vegetable glycerine. I do it in an empty e-juice squeazy bottle. You should get more vape, which you say you don't get much of, and less hit - with any luck.

It has another benefit: You can buy ultra-high nicotine juice at the same price as your regular and make it go further with the cheap glycerine :)

I would send you an empty bottle or two, except that (1) you're in the US and I'm in London, and (2) I never go out

Are you able to post a link to your e-gadget? I don't think I've seen it.

Wow, I thought the Nebula would be more like a hubble-bubble :) It's not a cheapo, that's for sure. It looks like a Super Mini or Evo but I only know the Mini and Classic in detail.

I wonder if your model was faulty or substandard in the first place because I see that the retailer really stresses the amount of vapour it produces. The atomiser shouldn't need cleaning at this early stage and I don't even know if your atomiser can be cleaned.

Perhaps keep trying, some e-cigs take a while to run in; otherwise, tell the retailer it's not performing properly and ask to return for exchange or a refund.

Oh dear, I hate not being able to help :(

If a 901 was a 2 piece instead of a 3 piece it would look like this! I don't see any benifit for trading laterally. The glycerin added to your juice is the only thing I can think of..it does produce more vapor.
My 901 doesn't provide much vapor with out it except for the first couple of puffs. I don't care about throat hits.

I confess, Mary, that for the last umpteen years of my smoking career I was smoking rollies made with Golden Virginia tobacco, without filter (though I did roll up a strip of paper to put in the mouth end to prevent baccy-strands straying into my mouth). Hence I need hit!

One consolation for all the fiddling I've had to do with my 901s is that it replaces the chain rolling and smoking I was doing up until... it'll be 6 months ago on the 23rd :thumb:

I couldn't believe it when I first noticed your "birthday", MK - you never moan about problems with your gadgetry, I was always crying on others' shoulders.

In my own defence, I've had loads and loads of faulty/substandard 901s and when I splashed out on a Screwdriver, that turned out to need a lot of nursing (apparently the atomisers weren't properly primed).

But actually it makes me even more proud of never rolling that ... since 23 Oct 09, no matter what! :)

Well I have to report that I'm doing significantly better with the coughing thing. The throat hit is still rather strong for me but at least now I'm getting some vapor too. However I read a few disturbing post on this board concerning these semi disposable atomizer models so I'm thinking I'll just replace the whole kit now. At any rate, today was a good day for me as far as not wanting to smoke..I seem to be reaching for my ecig like I've been doing this all my life.

That's brilliant Cori! :) If you want a different model I suggest you investigate the Dura-C and the Evo. I've no personal experience of them but I keep coming across favourable reports. I'm presuming you wouldn't want to leap on to something like the Stick, and then there's the Screwdriver which many swear by.

Tim (seems a very nice guy, I've bought several lots of Janty juice from him and he has been communicative) at Smoke Juice is saying they're in stock (the Dura-C, I mean):

JANTY DURA

If I had my time over again, knowing what I know now, I'd probably go for the Dura-C if I wanted a conventional-looking e-cig. I can't count the number of 901 batteries and atomisers I've bought - as I've rattled on about before, they've kept me going, I should be and am grateful, but it's been a helluva hassle oftentimes.

With the Dura-C and its accessories you have a pretty rock solid guarantee, from what I hear.

But it's so difficult advising someone else how to spend their money :( I'm going to try to find a fella I know is happy vaping a Dura-C as we speak ;) But this forum is rather complex and I can't remember his name 8-o

I lovelovelove my 401. Makes dripping (or better yet dipping!) a breeze
I'm a mad keen dripper :) Is there another name for the 401? (I may have asked that before somewhere... seems familiar now that I've typed it... poor memory :( )

Edit: I've asked one Dura-C fan to pop in and advise, and the fella I was thinking of is 'chief druid'. Maybe you could check out his posts.

I am only about 6 weeks into to this. The first week or so was with a smokefree kr808..it's the same low end type the Smoking everywhere people sell. But the people I ordered from, took both kits back and refunded us! Nice lady, poor product. I don't complain about my 901's because they haven't given me much grief! A few dead bats, returned and a few dead atty's returned. Most of my parts are 5 weeks old. My plan is to quit everything in 6 months so it doesn't seem to me like a good idea to upgrade. Kind of like trading a chevy for a porche when all you really want to do is walk!
