ecig not holding a charge

Okay, she corrected me and said they are not prefilled. looking at the picture here (MadVapes 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit), there is a little orange bottle on the far right that says "24mg". She said it tastes somewhat like Marboro Reds. She said they did taste burnt from the start.

Should I contact the company... maybe they are defective?

I will definitely bookmark the backwoodsbrew site--thank you.

They hold a great deal of juice. If she's getting a burnt taste, chance are good that she didn't fill it with enough juice. Tell her not to continue vaping with it or she will burn the cartomizer.

The EMDCC hold A LOT of juice, like around 4 ml if I remember correctly. Say approx 25 drops per ml, that'd be- a heck of a lot of juice.

EMDCC need to be completely saturated with juice because they can burn very easily. And you need or she needs to top them off to keep them wet.

How is she filling the cartos?

I know, it's very frustrating. Maybe they aren't burnt. Is she dripping juice into the cartomizer? Drip around 10 drops or so. Shake it really good like a thermometer. Add 10 more, give it another shake. Continue doing this until the juice sort of pools on top and it won't take any more juice. The juice needs to work it's way through the cartomizer to the bottom. After filling it let it sit for 1/2 hour or 15 minutes or so. Look at it- If it looks white, add more juice.

Sometimes if I get a burnt taste, I fill it then turn it over and add a couple more drops to the battery end.

Okay, I think we're finally starting to fumble through this, thanks to your help.

She wasn't putting enough liquid into it, so she added quite a bit more. Then it leaked out the other end (the metal part). She just wiped it up now, and looks like she has used up all the liquid tonight experimenting. We're going to shake it and give it a few minutes like you said, and see if it works better.

If you have any problems or questions just post! Sorry she's having so many issues. You're right, there aren't a lot of instructions that come with these kits. I think if she tries the Backwood Brew juice she'll probably like it.

His juice is made to order, so it tastes better when it steeps (sits) for a week or so. But it is still good as soon as you get it.
His watermelon is also good.

She tried it again and said it still tastes burnt, and really horrible. She started choking and coughing from the taste. Man, I have no idea what to think... I don't smoke or vape, so it's all new to me.

Well, it could be the juice or it could be that the carto is burnt. I like Mad Vapes but wasn't overly fond of their juice. Not that there is anything wrong with it at all. But people have different tastes. Does she have any cartomizers left that are OK?
Maybe the juice is a little strong for her. She could try adding a bit of distilled water to it, or a better bet would be to pick up some Vegetable Glycerin at Walmart. It's in the pharmacy section. I think the juice at MV is all PG and the VG from Walmart will smooth the juice a bit and also dilute the nicotine a bit too. Don't add too much, just a couple drops. That might help with the taste.

Congrats! It's really amazing at how well pv's work isn't it? I can't believe I don't smoke cigs anymore either. It can be a bit of a rough road trying to figure this all out on the internet, especially doing it alone.

Like you, just don't give up. The perfect pv and the perfect juice is out there! Just don't let yourself get frustrated. Ease into it. Eventually you will find the right setup for you. It might take a bit of money to start (but not as much as cigs cost) but once you do, you're great!

Once I got the pv I love, which is the ego, a great juice- I vape nhalers nuport juice all day every day, you're great! It can get frustrating - we've all been there. Just keep at it, it is SO worth it!

another option is a KR808D from vapor4life.... these have prefilled cartomizers and lots of members love em....

I quit a 1-2 pack-a-day habit using Vapor4Life's XL manual batteries and 24mg liquid, so I know they work. I'm still vaping with them but I will say that the fatter batteries like the IGo/Ego/Riva make life much simpler. You can always use the V4L cartos and juice on one of the bigger batteries to get the best of both worlds.

Hey, sorry for the delay. We just got back from vacation. She got it working right, as far as we can tell, but she's not using it. She said it is "too harsh" and hurts her throat. (She said it's not a temperature thing.)

Any idea what might be wrong?

Too high PG or too high nic

Nicotine is a skin irritant and provide the peppery throat hit

PG is thin and lets through the most flavor, nicotine TH, nicotine irritation
VG is thick and dulls everything PG lets through, and adds thicker vapor

Heat, even if not an objectionable amount, enhances nicotine's TH

I use cartomizers for a more consistent vape w/ juices that have 20% or less VG

Try lower nic with her and if using 100% PG juice try 80PG/20VG and cartomizers
