eCigMods.com - 14500 Battery Problems - Length

Ok guys... just a heads up. The 14500 UltraFire batteries that I just got in are *not* fitting in my standard boxmod enclosures. Word is they were lengthened in the last batch by almost 2 MM.

You guys *DO NOT* have to worry about compatibility with the new juicebox I'm releasing. The battery compartment has to be disassembled and rebuilt anyways for the 14500 batteries. The standard 14500 is already too long, so my modification will accept *any* 14500 out there, no matter the length.

Just wanted to keep you guys updated on this potentially serious problem. :)

As a side note... I'm getting these done faster than expected. May 1st still looks like the projected release date. I will be adding 10 more pre-orders in the next 24 hours. Keep watching the website for more details.

Hey Craig, I went to make an order but roamed away from my cart and the only way back was to add more and then remove it, where's the button for My cart?? All the attys are GONE anyway!

Ooh... cart button? I'll get right on that.

You snooze you lose. There were like 7 of them this morning before I changed the price. (lol)

I'll order more tonight... :thumb:

Craig, Ive made a few boxes myself, just trim the first coil off the spring and they fit good! Snug but wear in after 2-3 Charges! Try it and hope all works out!!! :thumb:

Even with the *newest* battery release? They seem 2MM longer than the old ones.

I managed to get one in... but had to cut away the plastic holding the battery connector in place as well as trimming the spring down to practically nothing. Not a good solution.

No, you are correct, it will not work with the newest release. I tried here.
The battery doesn't fit the compartment, and the coil is already pushed up into the housing. Trimming the box itself, seems to be the only solution (which is iffy at best).

Good luck! I gave the one I had away, and am opting to try and make one myself!

Send me your address and I'll send ya some goodies. :)

What type of eCig you use?

Craig

Graig,

Dude! I said "no strings", but if you're just itching to send me some goodies, I'll drop you a PM.

As far as "what type of eCig I use";
I just started this whole vaping thing about a month ago with a RN4081 I bought at the local smoke/cash shop. It's still running strong @ 2ml a day.

Just yesterday I purchased one of pufftronic's MP1-501, but I really wanted one of your creations (no hint implied ;), seriously).

Bottom line, I'm just happy to help a fellow vapor that has the creativity and know-how to do what you do. Keep up the good work!
