While browsing VaporJoes today I was saddened to see the Avenger got cloned, part of the reason I got mine was because I figured it was uncommon enough to avoid getting cloned. Guess I was wrong. Oh well. Looking closely it's pretty darn close, with only two things I noticed (other than the horrible polished finish) The slotted ring around the 510 connection is different than my authentic edz modz, and the logo on the tubes doesn't look nearly as deep either. The real ones are machined in, the clone almost looks stamped in. At least it will be easy to tell the clone apart from the real one, I don't know how anybody is going to be able to add maching marks inside the logo to try and pass it off as real. Or re-machine the 510 connection.

Japorjoes says the clone is polished stainless, and he also says the original is aluminum. This is where my questions come from.

I was pretty certain my authentic Edz Modz was stainless, but having been wrong about materials in the past (wrongfully thought the ehpro caravela clone had bare brass caps because I have a strong tarnish going on, but they are actually brass, which is plated with either gold or... brass, something yellow shinny)

Anyway, I took a strong magnet to mine, slightly magnetic, that means stainless right? It cannot possibly be aluminum so I don't see what else it could be. The tubes are pretty light as they are quite thin (mod is like 20mm)

Is japorjoes wrong on this, or are there stainless and aluminum avengers from edz modz?

Thanks!

As far as I know there was an aluminum version but I am not sure if it's still produced. If you go to myvape they have the one they sell labeled as SS Avenger and they used to have the Aluminum one as just Avenger.

No idea if they still make both but I would think the aluminum would be cheaper than the SS and it would weigh a lot less.

Where did you buy it? How much did it cost? How much does it weigh?

These would help in answering your questions

I'm on my way to work. I will weigh it when I get home. I bought it off the classifieds on Reddit. Just by hand feel, it weighs considerably less than my stainless steel mods. I always thought it hit harder too, and this I contributed to it being more conductive aluminum. Could all be in my mind though.

Thanks for the info guys, now I want to track down an aluminum version.

Reason I wanted to know if there was an aluminum one around is that i was thinking of getting anodizing done on the main tube sections, to swap them out and have a two-tone mod if if I want.

Local shop is where I bought my SS one so I should ask if they can aquire an aluminum one (or just the tubes) for me.
