clearomizers work on a completely different level than cartomizers ...

standard cartos are hollow tubes, full of pillow stuffing, usually with a wire strung through the pillow stuffing that heats the juice. the pillow stuffing that hits the wire will eventually scorch, and give you that "burnt wet sock taste™" ...

top-coil clearos are fundamentally different as the wire that heats the juice is wrapped around the wick (usually silica thread) and is heated inside a small ceramic cup. the concentrated coil does several things - it focuses the heat in 1 small area, does not tend to burn the wick (as silica thread is fairly heat resistant), and keeps the vapor at the top of the whole affair. this lets the unvaped juice stay relatively cool, and gives truer flavor, and minimizes clogging and "burnt wet sock taste™"

darker juices tend to be sweeter, and with more sweet (some people say same thing about VG heavy juice) - it will thicken and give a burnt caramel taste. keeping everything wet will reduce the chance of this, no matter how dark the juice or your base blend.

I saw these on another vendors site and they were dirt cheap but that vendor said use only china juice or they will crack. Anyone had any luck with aciidic or cînnamon juice? My juicy fruit flavor will ruin an early stardust within an hour :-\
Wintergreen has been known to discolor and crack clearos. It's my 'Main' vape juice flavor. I have and will continue to use these ones here because I've had NONE of these problems with it. They are working great, NO Leaks, NO Cracking, NO Discoloring so far. I'm not sure if Cinnamon is the same as Wintergreen in how it reacts tho. For the price it's well worth the try. I don't know about other vendors and what they are carrying, but the ones from Good Prophets are good ! :)

i really dont believe in the cracking of newer clearos ... i have had a couple really thin older ones crack at the bottom, but they were not juices that would have cracked them. one was usa mix, one was vanilla cupcake (both in smoktek cl clear cartos) and ry4 in a ce2 clearo.

i have had dekang litchi in a stardust for 5 weeks, no cracking. i have had dekang lemon in a smoktek clear carto for 4 weeks, no cracking.

granted, we haven't tried the cinnamon, but we have had Rob's juicy fruit in a clearo (aqua vapor branded 2Ω ce2 style) for 3 weeks or so, and it is fine ... i top it off every couple of days, and check the bottom to make sure it isn't twisting in there.

i believe most of our cracking issues were with my wife wanting to over-tighten the clearos.

You will need to tilt if you let them run low, but otherwise the silicone reservoir will take care of that.

What I have learned from experience (but may not have to be done at all)
is I actually push down the bottom silicone or pull up the top silicone (which with the new tip, I think gets pushed back down)
This is to allow faster wicking, etc.....but too much and you will have serious leaking problems.

Also, you might have too much voltage applied.
If this is the case, turn down voltage or you may need higher ohm cartos...

We have found that even the 2.5ohm can be run at 3.3 volts. (no throat hit, but good flavor)

Just got mine today. I'm finding the best flavor at 3.3- 3.7 Volts. Higher than that and I get the burnt taste. Vaping 100% VG with my ego Twist. If I want more throat hit, do I need higher ohm clearos?
TIA!

you could try a higher resistance coil with more voltage ... or you could mix a little PG juice in there as well.

Also, pushing the bottom silicone down fractions of an inch may help...but be warned
you will have to really watch out for leaking and adjust as necessary.

I do this, but it really isnt for the faint of heart.

This could help by allow more liquid to penetrate into the coil for higher volts.

We have done testing, and the 1.8ohm works good even down to 3.2v
We can sometimes even rock the 2.5ohm down to the lower 3;s

If you really need higher volts without burning, the CE4 just might not be the trick.
Possible dual coil or the ole drip w 510 or 306
