Ego 650 Battery Life

I own 2 Ego T 650 Single Kits with CE-4 Clearomizers and the batteries seem to be going dead rather quickly. These batteries are only about 2 weeks old, they seem to charge up fairly fast and before I know it one or both are dead again. I find even my Logic e-cig is outlasting them. What gives?

Hi and welcome to ECF. 100 mah= 1 hour of normal vaping before recharge is needed. Are you vaping heavily? I would say if the batts aren't holding charge contact the Vendor.

If my math is correct, then, i should be getting 6.5 hours of "normal" vape time. What would be considered "normal" vs heavy vaping? I literally just took one off a "full" charge, took one drag and it's already flashing a low battery warning. As for how much I vape, a 10ml bottle of 18 mg e liquid lasts me about 5 days. As a final note, I don't have ego's "official" ac adaptor for the charge cable, I plug them into my computer for the most part

They have the "ego-T" logo on them so they should be. The fact that they are coming to a "full" charge faster than I would expect given my past experience with charging batteries of various types tells me that either the batteries or the charging device have issues

mah has zero to do with vaping time - how often you vape and power settings are the issues.
A 2000 mah battery for a light vapor at low wattage will last a hell of a long time. Same battery - crank it up to 10 watts - not so much.
Anyone giving "time" doesn't understand - it is ALL depending on HOW often you vape - and the settings of the device. 100 mah=1 hour is garbage.

Bear in mind this is a standard "650 Single Kit" I'm running with a standard CE-4 Clearomizer, so I have no variable settings and battery life is all determined by how often I vape. Anyway, it seems the batteries are "crying wolf" since I get the flashing on one drag then I take another and it works the way it should. By the way, I am aware that the device also gives 3 flashes to indicate if the battery is being "locked" or unlocked; something which I have done quite a few times just by how fast I hit it 3 times in a row

one of the manufacturers said something about 650 mah=650 "puffs", interesting guideline, perhaps a little overdone. If you have an issue with both batteries, it would seem there is a problem with the charger.

There is a great explanation of mAh here. Starts at paragraph 5.

In a nutshell, if you vape at a given vape pace with a device that draws a certain number of amps, you will be able to vape for a certain amount of time. The formula is mAh/mA current draw = vape time.

If you double your vape pace with no other change, you halve your vape time per charge.

If you double the amps with no other change, you halve your vape time. Increasing the voltage increases the amperage for a given resistance.

If you double the mAh of the battery with no other change, you double the vape time.

1 hour of vape time per 100 mAh of battery capacity is a generally accepted starting point for an 'average' vaper.

Your unit is dead if it dies like that after a full charge. The culprit is probably the electronics.

FWIW, I'm a heavy vaper and I get half the time out of an eGo-style 650 mah battery that others report -- about 3 hours.

I actually went back today to the E-Cig Barn in Raynham, MA. Where I buy my supplies and stocked up on liquid, a beefier Battery and upgraded from my CE-4 to a Vivi Nova Tank. While I was there, I mentioned my issues with the 650 batteries and since they both seem to have the same issue, they suggested it may in fact be be CE-4's shorting out intermittently. I tried my 650 batteries on my new Vivi Nova tank and they seem to work fine, I can take a nice long hit and no flashing. I also get better vapor production, better throat hit, no burnt taste; this tank just blows my 2 CE-4 units out of the water. End of story, so I happily "retired" my 2 CE-4 tanks into the nearest trash can. I plan to keep my 2 650 batteries as "spares" and run them till they crap out altogether then gut them to make my first custom "mods"

I also get about 3 hours out of my 650 PVs.
But they're all variable volt. I like to crank them up high!
