eGo and iPad charger?

My e-cig charger is broken and I won't be able to get a new one until January. Can I use my iPad charger with eGo battery? I know it is possible but is it safe?
i know some of you are using iPhone chargers to charge you e-cig battery and nothing wrong happens. But is it as safe as charging with a proper charger?

what's the output on the charger? 420 to 500ma should be ok.

As long as the iPad charger is standard 5 volts and is rated at 500 mA output current or higher it will be fine. More output current than the eGo will ever draw on is fine. Less than 500 mA current is... bad.

Are you talking about an Ego passthrough with a mini B plug on the bottom? If so, I am not sure what type of plug an Ipad has, but you can use an old style mini B male from an old cell phone. They make great ones. I have a bunch of extras, if you weren't all the way over in Europe I'd send one your way

The standard apple iPad USB power adapter is a 12W power supply.

What does the actual plug on your ego look like? Is it a trapezoid plug looking thing or what? Is your Ego a passthrough?

I'd say go ahead and do it. It might have more power than the battery needs but it will only draw what it can, not everything it's given.

It's a standard 12w 5v 2.1amp power supply. You will be fine.

To prolong the life of your batteries I wouldn't recommend letting it become a habit, and try not to let it sit over charging for too long.
It's not that it's bad for your batteries, but extensive over charging (over several charge cycles) can shorten overall life span. I'd say the same thing if you were wanting to charge your iPhone on a iPad charger. It's OK to do, but don't do it a lot.
