    I'd say go ahead and do it. It might have more power than the battery needs but it will only draw what it can, not everything it's given.

    It's a standard 12w 5v 2.1amp power supply. You will be fine.

    To prolong the life of your batteries I wouldn't recommend letting it become a habit, and try not to let it sit over charging for too long.
    It's not that it's bad for your batteries, but extensive over charging (over several charge cycles) can shorten overall life span. I'd say the same thing if you were wanting to charge your iPhone on a iPad charger. It's OK to do, but don't do it a lot.
