Hi, I've been researching for a while and have a few basic questions just to clarify a few things before I get started.
First set of questions is regarding the eGo e-cig, second set is regarding organic/natural liquid.

eGo:

So, I'm sort of under the impression that the Joye is the more popular/well known eGo style e-cig? Are there other quality brands in the US that I should consider? Right now I'm looking at the eGo-C. I definitely want something that's going to be a better quality (at least for a newbie) but it doesn't need to be that brand, though it looks nice.

So my understanding is that there's the atomizer, tank and drip tip, and these are the main interchangeable parts correct (maybe the battery too)? With the eGo-C, for example, is the plastic mouth piece the "drip tip" and could I replace it with any other eGo drip tip from other companies? Would you need to replace both the atomizer and the drip tip to match? And can you use any eGo style atomizer? Is there a difference in functionality, or mostly look/quality? Are multiple atomizers switched out so you can switch between flavors without replacing all the liquid?

I seem to be confused; the atomizer base and head is the part that actually heats it up, and the atomizer cover is where the liquid actually goes? What's the difference between that, and a tank? Sorry, I'm trying to look it up and I'm still confused :/ I know I don't want anything to be heated up in plastic and I want to be able to make it pretty.

So...my understanding is that the atomizers come in different voltages? Would a start up kit like that have the right voltage for most newbies needs? And uhh...you can adjust how much it heats for each liquid depending on the flavor right? >.> I still don't really know what I'm talking about...

When they say you can change the atomizers out for different flavors...which part do they mean? What's the most economical way to do that (without buying something plastic).

And just in case anyone links to some recommendations, I'm only really interested in eGos that are blue, pink, or lighter purple colors, and no gold touches, only silver if any. Rainbow is a possibility; girly stuff. Or at least part of it should be these colors. I know, I'm picky :p

Sorry if these are dumb questions. I've never actually handled any of these devices (though I vaped off of little e-cigs in the past) and I'm still confused despite researching. Just want to make sure I buy something that makes sense for me. Also, when using an e-cig is it called "vaping", or is that mainly used to describe using a "vape pen", which appears to be mainly used to describe other unmentionables? :p

Organic/natural liquid:

Alright, so I've basically narrowed down my brand choices to Orb Vapor, Ahlusion, Dripeez, and Vaperite. Maaayybe Virgin Vapor. There's a few others, but those websites appealed to me the most. I'm interested to hear from those who have experiences with these brands. It's very important to be that the juice is actually all natural and certified to be of food grade quality/made in the US so the USDA organic and USP labels help. Can anyone speak to the integrety and quality of those brands, in that regard? I'm very health-conscious and kind of paranoid, lol.

Thanks so much!

Joyetech make excellent batteries. The atomiser system they "employ" with separate atomizers and cartridges is dismal.

I don't actually buy Joyetech anything these days. For eGo batteries, I get Vision or Innokin. In fact, as my Vision Spinners get old(er) I am replacing them with iTasteVVs.

:)

Oh, yes. and Vaping is the popular name.

Thanks. I'm still trying to figure out what all the parts of the atomizer even entail and how the cartridge relates, ha. So are you saying that their base, head, and cover system is unique? How does it usually work? Still trying to figure out how all the parts fit together exactly. All I can find is the "atomizer is the part that heats it up" still not even sure what part the liquid goes in is called, or what's replaceable etc...

Newbie here, never knew there was a science to vaping muwahahaha. All I want is a Vaporizer that's hit's as strong as a Camel Menthol Silver :?: So I guess since I'm a newbie I'll start with the Ego whatchamuhcallit starter kit

Yeah, the ego-c twist should be nice for you. If you're looking for throat hit try to get a mostly PG liquid and make sure your nicotine level is up high.

I'm a newbie here too. If I may, I would recommend going to a brick and mortal (physical) store and look around, You can pick up the products and check them out. Get some advice from the operator and also they will let you try different flavors, etc. You get a 'rubber' tip to try things out so you won't be smoking after someone else.

Granted, this will be more expensive than buying over the internet, but find out what you like - then when it comes to buying more you can go back to the net.

Just my one and a half cents worth . . . (inflation...)

this ^

i tried to research online and got overwhelmed by the terminology. i just wanted to start vaping! i decided to try the local store instead

when i first bought my setup i walked into the store and told the clerk i want to go home and start vaping today.

He only asked me two questions:
1. what color battery do you want?
2. what color tank do you want?

this made it so damn easy!! the hard part was choosing an ejuice. i got lucky and decided to go with the third one i tried. The whole experience took less than 15 minutes and i walked out of the store vaping with my new gear. The price out the door was $59. the extra few dollars i spent were worth the convenience and spared me the headache of trying to do it by myself online

Thanks for all the responses. I might just go into a vape shop. We'll see :)

However, a question about the link...

take a look at this page. it should answer some of your questions xxx.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-guide-juice-attachments.html

Is it true that you need to continuously add drops with the atomizer? The ego-C says it has an "atomizer" and it says that one of them has a 2ml eliquid cartridge, so is that really only enough for a few drops, or is that article just talking about a "drip atomizer"?

you are correct. "a few drops" is referring to drip atomizer. a 2ml tank holds plenty of liquid. the small bottles of eliquid are usually 10ml...so 2ml is 1/5 of that

By the way, is it pretty standard for the eGos to have wicks and do you know if the Joyetechs use them? Actually looking at the eGo-CC right now. I was reading about "biowicks" and would be interested in using those, if those models use wicks.

ego generally refers to the type of battery and threading. the actual wick is a part of the atomizer which is attached to the tank which attaches to the battery :p

the words cartomizer/tank/atomizer/clearomizer are practically interchangable when shopping online. each online vendor lists their product categories in any combination of those 4 words. To be safe, you can assume they are mostly referring to the same class of products...with some room for discretion, of course

Just an update in case anyone is curious -

I decided on the Evod starting kit, went to go buy it today but bought the Evod VV battery and Mini Protank II instead (by accident, both I and the guy at the counter got confused haha). It's going great! Love it :)

I also ordered the Dripeez liquid and Orb Vapor. Just got the Dripeez one and have only tried their mint, but it's tasty :)
