I will try to keep this short, as I hate typing. I ordered a hello 016 a couple of weeks ago.Cool looking setup, I thought. Ben using kr808's for about 8 months, but tired of charging all the time.
when it arrived something didnt look right. the cartrige was stuck on the atty, melted. I thought great.I waited all this time and got a bum one. the batt was dead and woudnt charge...no red light. I left it on for 8 hrs...nothing. I contacted the supplier. He said probably the button got stuck in shipping. Said he would send a new one. I wanted two units, so I went ahead and ordered another batt and cone. The new one came in three days. was charged out of the box , but put it on the charger for 8 hrs. Worked great for 6/7 hrs. Put it back on the charger. Lite turned red for about ten min then green. It was dead when I put it on the charger. I thought...huh...thats wierd. left it on the charger four hrs. went to check it, and batt and charger were real hot....I could hold it my hand...but not very long. Let it cool down. Started vaping. Worked great. About ten min later, I saw smoke coming from the button and it had pushed in all the way....rolling around inside. The next day I called the dealer and he said huh...never heard of that. send it back and he will replace it. Later that day my replacement first bat was in the mailbox...with a new charger....cool. I put it on the charger, and 8 hrs later. good to go. started using it. An hour later, same thing...smoke...button gone...what the hell....called the dealer back. Asked if Icould get an ego instead...sure...on its way. By this time, my warr was up (14 days) but he would still send me one as soon as he got the other one back. Got the ego 4 days later. Loved it....that is until the next day... it was getting hot and would not hold the charge...about an hour...then it would start blinking a couple of times and quit. I dont know what to do now. Any ideas ?

At first I was using the ac adapter that came with the unit...then I read about some problems they were having with them, so I started using my usb port on my computer...the dealer assured me that mine was from a new batch of wall chargers and the problem had been solved...I also am using 510 cartos and kr808s with an adapter...dont care much for 3 piece with attys. The dealer said they are designed for the atty/cone setup (the hello). He said maybe that was the problem. I guessed maybe the adapter was shorted. He said he had heard of that, so I quit using them...just the 510 cartos. I have ordered the Riva from a different supplier...he doesnt carry them....I have no probem with him...I will still order other supplys from him...he cant control manufactoring...I'm just real frustrated. I'm sitting here with about $80 worth of equipment I can't use. Maybe i will order another charger and see if the batts will come back to life......thanks for the help

had a similar problem with my first kit of eGo, minus the fact that you got one that had a melted atty. Charges green quickly, also drains too fast. The solution for me was instead of using the stock ac adapter, i used an ipod wall ac adapter. 4 months now and all of my batteries are in 100% working condition, my 2 650mah batts last me a day, and my XL900mah lasts around 2 days. Never used the stock ac adapters ever since.

Maybe you should try this as well!

I tried that too, as I have an I-phone...same thing...I've tried every combo I could think of...Im thinking maybe the helllos ruined the new charger, wich in turn ruined the egos...Thats why im ordering a new charger...I would use the one Im getting with the Riva, but dont want to chance starting the whole process again

I wouldn't want to assume ahead of you, but i am guessing that the real problem is with the batteries that are being sent to you. It might be a costly solution but i would recommend that you try purchasing just 1 extra eGo battery from another seller so you can have a better chance of pinpointing who the real culprit is behind your set-up problems.

At first, I thought about doing that. But I decided to get a Riva instead. Got for a pretty good price ($50 shipped) as I like the little more mah's and the better switch. At this point i'm trying to revive my two ego's as cheaply as possible with another new charger. I can always use it to charge my 2nd Riva too...but thanks for the advise

Just a follow-up on my post. My Riva came yesterday (ordered monday..Wow) It seems to working just as everyone described. I have never much cared for 3 pc. units, using 808 for about 8 mo. But I have to say, those LR attys really kick ! I switch back and forth between 510 atty, 510 cartos and 808's. I may try a cart mod to see if that makes it more convienient.

My Hello and ego must have been bad a batch or something. Who knows.
Anyway, thanks for the help from everyone. I'll let you know this goes.

ps: the switch on the Riva is much better than the Hello or the Ego
