I have an older ego-t style battery that a friend gave me a while back. I have never had any issues with it til I just went to take it off the charger and noticed it's really warm. Not like burning hot but pretty warm. This is making me nervous. Anyone have any experience with this? This is now my only backup battery so now I'm worried I'll be left with just one.

Yeah I do have a spare charger. It was screwed into the charger pretty loosely so I am thinking maybe that was causing it, not sure. I've got it charging again now and am keeping an eye on it and touching it every couple minutes and so far so good. I'll be careful with it. Thanks for the advice guys. I hate to spend the money on another battery when I'm trying to save up money to buy an MVP2. It just seems like a waste!

Time to replace it, the battery should not get warm when charging.

Uh, no. Charging batteries getting warm is normal, its just that most people use those weak ... 0.5A chargers so for them it doesn't happen.

OP: What kind of charger are you using? If its the minimalistic usb -> ego type things then those are little more than just socket converters, you could have it on a beefier source which would make it charge faster and warmer. The danger zone for mechanically sound li-ions starts at 150C which is way too hot to touch, from your description you're not there yet. Either way you should get a charger that measures the batteries internal resistance, those detect when battery should no longer be used and wont charge them.
