I purchased a kit in June that came with 2 eGo 3.7 v 1000 mAh batteries and 2 eGo Mega LR atomizers. I really like the combo, but I have had problems with the batteries. They have just died, or activate without the switch being pushed, or the worst was continually activating and melting a cartomizer!

The vendors response when asked about the battery failures was they don't recommend the use of LR atomizers with eGo batteries, and the kit was meant for "veteran users".

So to the veteran users, how would you use this kit differently to avoid the battery failures?

I use a drip tip, and drip 3-4 drops at a time. At night I take the whole thing apart and set the atomizer upside-down to drain excess liquid. I clean the contacts before and after each use with a soft cloth, and wash the attomizers weekly in hot water. I do use cartomizers too, but my favorite is the LR atomizer. I vape an 80/20 PG/VG blend.

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong:confused: What would you do differently?

Thank-you for the advice. :vapor:

Using low resistance is your problem. I have 2 ego batteries that are over a year old and still going strong but they have never been used with LR. If you want to safely use LR, you need to go to a mod that runs on a 3.7V battery...a cheapy box mod will even work...you don't need an expensive PV is what I'm getting at.

If you want to stick with an ego setup, you need to use atomizers and cartomizers 2.8ohm and higher to protect your batteries.

Low resistance drains the battery faster than intended which leads to recharging more than recommended. Also, the MOSFET switches in the batteries get overworked trying to properly fire LR. Plus, they can't withstand the heat the LR puts out.

My suggestion is to get yourself a non-proprietary PV or box mod if you like using low resistance...it's the safest thing to buy.
