I've been looking at this unit for a little while now and wondering ... hmm ... could this be a good way to go to get some VV happening without buying a honking huge 'pipe bomb' (reference to LavaTube from another poster, LOL)? Just don't see this middle-aged woman carrying one of those around, :) Even in purty pink!

Would appreciate any comments on the pro's and con's of this unit as it isn't cheap but, if it does the job, would be worth it. Thanks!

I was thinking of buying one of these for my eGos but decided against it because for the price it's definitely not worth it, as there is a couple of different vendors selling normal eGos with VV already built in to the unit for cheaper than the booster.

I personally bought a LT for vaping at home, and I'm going to pick me up a eGoVV for out and about

I've been using it for the past 3 weeks - adds a noticeable increase amount of flavour to most e-liquids & increased vapour. Only downside, it will drain your batteries twice as fast. Should use 1000mah or higher & genuine Joyetech e-Go batteries may last longer before recharges. I've only experienced 1 non Joyetech bat, so my opinion will vary from others. I still highly recommend the booster. It does what its designed to do.

Yeah, I know there is quite a difference in price range between those two units - was wondering if anyone could explain the 'why' to me. What makes the Ego booster supposedly so much better to justify almost 3 times the cost? I seem to remember that there were some problems with the 900 mah VV but maybe those bugs have been worked out. The Ego booster purports to give slightly higher voltages than the EgoVV but they are very close.

Just not understanding the differences. Will do more research as this definitely falls into my 'want/like' catagory and not my 'need' one, LOL.

i think the difference is u can select a range of voltages with the booster and with the vv egos u can only select between 3 voltages but as long as it hits 4.2 thats would be perfect for me i love 4.2 with a lr atty

Should be noted that a booster can be used on batteries for the long haul - whereas batteries themselves will die and required replacing.

Yeah, I agree with Encee. I think it's "cool", but for that price, it better be more than cool. Especially when you can now get eGoVVs for like $20.

Point taken & I agree, however - "Why would I purchase a Provari or Darwin?" cause they offer a quality build & performance. The Ego VV is completely disposable where the booster may last for years if well taken care of. The booster comes with warranty & outstanding support. All I'm saying, if you can afford it - buy it! If's its a choice, try a $20 VV Ego - there won't be much or any difference with performance ie taste & vapour.

The Booster (from Happyvaper) is $60 while the eGoVV is $21 from canvape, so you could buy (almost) 3 eGoVV's for the price of one booster. From a money standpoint, even if battery dies after 3-4 months, I just couldn't possibly see tossing down the money for a booster.

Is the Booster actually a "dial in your voltage" mod? The way I read the reviews, it simply just bumps your eGo up from 3.3v to 4.7v, without a choice in between.

You nail it. Fact that it will even make your Ego a lot longer is a big no no to me. I'd most likely buy a $40 3AA VV box mod than spending $60 for a mere booster.

But I think that foks behind the booster are coming up with their own version of the Ego. Check out their website.

Everyone should check this out!!!

Looks like a (no offense to GG) VV eGo GG !! (not mechanical of course)

This could be something huge, IMO.

Ah yes, kanadiankat ... excellent point and one that completely evaded my oh-so-logical mind.

Thanks to all for your feedback. Much appreciated!

So I will comment on my experience with the eGo Booster.

It is a great device. If you have eGo's and you like the eGo's this maybe for you. IMO this was designed for people who have plenty of eGo's and want a little something extra.

Pros: Has eGo threads
Same rubberized feel as an eGo
can do anywhere from 3.3v to 4.7v and anywhere inbetween
Can be used on a 3.7v mod to boost up to 4.7v

Cons:
The dial can be damaged/broken easily
Cost
Weight (makes the eGo top heavy)
Length (when paired with a 1000mah ego + Vision someone might mistake it as a flute)
