Finally got a Ego-C Twist battery with 1.4ml Boge 510D XXL Cartomizers and e-juice, as my first package into vaping.

Now I don't know much what to do. I charged the battery, looked at the parts I got, watched a couple of tutorials on Youtube, and from what I understand, all I need to do now is fill a cartomizer, screw it on my battery, click the battery 5 times and inhale.

Did I get it right?

What's the best way (meaning the safest, easiest way for a perfect noob) to fill the cartomizer?

Thanks guys!

For starters, there are no dumb questions. You're new and not expected to know very much. And you will have lots of defenders on this forum.

I don't use cartomizers. I use clearomizers. It's a different animal. But yes, you fill the cartomizer, screw it onto your Twist. I'd start with the lowest voltage setting on your Twist (3.2 volts). Take a few drags and increase the voltage by 0.2 volts taking a few drags off your e-cig in-between each increase in voltage. Repeat until you find what feels and tastes best to you. I don't know the ohms on your carto or what kind of juice you are using to fill your carto. But you will likely be between 3.6 and 4.2 volts somewhere. It takes a bit of practice at first to gauge the drag you need. Most people push the button on the Twist for a second or two before drawing on the cartomizer. Keep the button pushed throughout your draw. Release the button when you are done. Inhale just like a cigarette. Take baby draws to start and work your way up. Wait to get someone to explain how to fill a cartomizer. There are a million vids on how to do this and depends somewhat on the cartomizer you are using. Look it up on YouTube. Let us know how it turns out and best of luck.

And when you find that cartomizers take too long to fill to use for too short of a period of time, you move on to tanks like these.
IMG_2246.JPG

The top 2 has the mini vivi nova clearomizer, the middle 3 are your standard cartomizer/tank setup, and the bottom one is regular size vivi nova. Carto/tank setup uses a cartomizer inside what is basically plastic/glass tube with endcaps. The liquid in the tank then feeds the cartomizer through a hole that you make on the cartomizer or you can also get pre-punched cartomizers as well.

The vivi nova is more of a "fill it up and forget about it" setup.

How to fill a cartomizer:

take one of the silicone sleeves that came over the cartomizer when you pulled it out of the package. There will usually be two of them and one is usually longer than the other. Use the longer one. Fill it about 1/2 to 3/4 full of juice and slide it over the battery end (with the threads) of the carto and push the juice up. Don't let it overflow. Once it's all the way down the bottom let the juice soak in. Now take your bottle of juice and keep adding it to the top until it wont take any more. Then shake it like an oldschool analog thermometer. The juice will go into the polyfill. Repeat this process until the carto will not take any more juice. Then slide the sleeve off of the cartomizer and blow the excess back into the sleeve to clear your air tube. Wipe off the outside of the carto and you're good to use it. Take the sleeve with the extra juice that may still be in it and when your carto starts appearing dry on the top just squeeze some of that juice from the sleeve into the polyfill of the carto until it's all gone. Now you wasted very little juice (which is now on your paper towel) and because you filled it from the bottom up you got a proper fill. Just throwing in juice from the top will have the same results.

This is commonly referred to as the "condom method" but it's a variation because most people only use the condom, and don't drip from the top. I find the results are the same and that my way is easier and makes less of a mess since the sleeve catches everything and all you lose is the juice you wipe off the outside of the carto.

Your carto will taper off in flavor and after a few days to a week you will need to either clean it or replace it. Details on how to clean them can be found in my blog (which I will endorse in a second).

Now, as far as the information overload I recommend that you check out my blog, The Vaper's Handbook. The link to it is below, in my signature. It's a compilation of all you need to know about vaping but were afraid to ask. It's written in an easy to digest way and because it's split into questions you can skip over what you know or put it down and pick back up right where you left off. Please subscribe because I update it almost daily.

P.S. You don't need 6 batteries like Aoi and the E1-V clearomizer crushes all of those tanks in performance and looks. Sorry Aoi. :)

Well, Aoi is getting a little ahead of the game. Let's just get jokoCanada going on what he has. Yes, joko, I'd start out by doing a slow drip in your carto...a drip or two at a time Wait for the juice to be soaked up before adding more. Keep the juice out of that center hole. I don't know how many drops it will take...I'm not a carto guy. I'm guessing 12 - 16. You'll know when it pools up and doesn't soak in anymore.

EDIT: Use instructions from the other guys on filling your carto. Again, I'm not a carto guy.

It's good your doing your homework, but it sounds like you have a good starter combo. I recommend you just fill up the carto till it's nice and moist and start vaping. Make sure you start your twist out on 3.2v(it's lowest setting) and work your way up till you find the spot that you enjoy the flavor of your juice the most. ENJOY IT!!! :D

I'm not sure what your asking about, but those tips are called drip tips a I strongly recommend you buy a couple.
Just a last question: Am i supposed through the metal edge (with the little foam half a centimeter in)?

I guess so, but what I've usually seen is people with a nice smoking tip.

Thanks guys. I used the condom method and finished by adding a couple of drops.

Will try later on when the kids are asleep, and will keep you posted.

Good job jokoCanada. For now, just concern yourself with what you have. The carto and battery you have is all you need to start vaping. Worry about drip tips and clearomizers and tanks some other time. Become a pro on your Boge carto and Twist battery first. Report back after you get the kiddies to bed and have some time to vape on your new toy.

How much did/do you smoke? 12mg might not be enough nicotine for you. Usually, the more nicotine there is in a liquid, the stronger the "throat hit."

I was a pack-a-day smoker, and started at 24mg. Now I'm hovering between 12 and 24 depending on my needs.

Yeah, I just read a couple of threads and noticed that my 12mg juice might not be enough.

I quit smoking almost 5 years ago and unfortunately started again recently (like a month ago), but I've only been smoking 2-3 cigarettes a day since then. The habit came back strong, but it's not like I'd need 32mg. I guess I should have ordered 18mg for the first weeks, though.
