My iClear 30 was popping and leaking last night. I took it apart, cleaned it, did a dry burn, and noticed there was a part of the wire that was glowing hotter then the rest and POP! It kept popping. I guess this is called a "hot spot". I wound up taking a pin and seperated the coils there. They appeared to be pushed together. vaping the iClear now, and there is no more popping noise. I have no idea what to do with a CE5 though.

So I need to get into this thing and mess around after having it for like 6 days?

6 days usually means a cleaning and a dry burn, and/or a new coil head, depending on the e liquid you use. Most definately a good cleaning and coil burn. The coils gunk up after a time.

A good practice is to clean and dry before refilling each time. You'll extend the life of the coils. I don't have the CE5, so I'm not all that sure on how to do it, but I think they have a top coil like my iClear 16's, so I can tell you how I clean those.

Uncrew the clearo from the battery. Remove the drip tip and pour out any remaining liquid. Who knows, maybe you can save some? If you haven't been getting any burnt taste from it, I have poured stuff back into a bottle. Uncrew the base from the plastic tube. Remove and put the silicone cap on top of the inner metal tube somwhere safe, where you won't loose it. If you can replace the coil, you should be able to unscrew that metal tube from the base as well. If you have a type where you can't replace the coil, then just leave it and rinse all the parts in warm water. Dry everything as best you can with a paper towel. Screw the base and the coil back on to your battery. Hold the fire button down two seconds at a time until the coils glow red and are no longer covered in gunk. Place the silicone cap back on top and screw the plastic sleave back on to the base. Pour some liquid in, place the drip tip back, and let it sit for a bit until the wick get resoaked. Vape away.

You would take off the silicone cap on the tube so you can see the coils when you do a dry burn so you know when to stop. You definately have to remove the plastic tube from the base so you can dry the coils as much as possible before a dry burn. I suppose you do not have to remove the coil head from the base though.

Dry burn until all the coils glow red with one press of the fire button. Only hold the fire button each time for a couple of seconds, if that. I blow on the coil in between pressing the fire button to cool it down again before hitting it again. Once you've dry burned, and if the wicks feel fairly dry, you can put the clearo back together and fill with liquid. Give it 15 minutes to soak in the liquid and then you can vape.

on the CE 5 you can unscrew the entire clear plastic tube and remove it. Then pull of the little silicone cap.

You will pulse the button on your battery until the now exposed coil glows red. Sort 2 second pulses. You will see/smell smoke as the gunk burns off your coil. THen give it a good rinse. Put it back together and fill it.

TO replace the coil you would take the clear tube off. and unscrew the entire dead unit from the base and screw on a new one.

I screwed up - I actually have a CE4!

ok with MOST CE4s that I have seen the clear plastic tube is not removable and the heads are not replaceable (I think there is one the CE4+ that is replaceable).

grab tweezers and remove the silicone cap. Dry burn as instructed. Rinse(gets rid of the chared gunk). Put the Silicone cap back on. fill and roll.

Most CE4s are considered disposable though you can keep them going longer with a dry burn.

How long the manufacturer expect them to last or how long can you probably eek it along with care?

THe manufacturer does not intend you to dry burn to extend its life. When it gets gunky you pitch it. SO maybe a week for most people. If you do a good rinse + dry burn + rinse you can probably extend it another week maybe more.

I kept one CE5 head going for a month with regular rinses and dry burns.

The real determining factor is going to be your juices choice and vaping habits. If you vape a very dark and sweet juice every minute you are awake it is going to gunk up faster and not last as long. I am guessing since you made it six days this is not the case though.
