Heya Steve ,

I wouldn't..

1.7 ohm SC cartos are probably best run at around 3.7 - 4v.

I have pushed a 1.7 SC to around 4.2 volts.. then it starts to taste nasty / burned... with or without a tank.

What are you seeking from your 1.7ohm carto , that you are not getting at or below 4Volts?
More Vapor? Flavor? heat?

I have a 1000 mah Ego C Twist and I'm currntly using a Boge F-16 4 mil tank with a Boge 1.6 ohm single coil double punched carto in it. I have been vaping out of it dialed in on 4 volts and that same carto has been hitting like a champ for the last month! Great consistent TH from this carto on 4V and my juices are usually only 16 or 18mg. I'm super impressed with these tanks and cartos I'll for sure be getting a few more. Check them out at ecigbestsave The tank WITH carto was only $6.99 and shipping was lightning fast. Great customer service over there too. Very friendly and more than willing to answer all your questions even over the phone.

Higher nicotine juice can solve that for you.

I'll have to defer to the experts here to offer advice on how to increase throat hit via carto ohm / volt combinations..

What Mg juice you tooting? :)

I'm vaping on Cinnabomb x2 from Vaporbomb.
With the tank do you have to keep dripping into the cartomizer or is the first time all it needs?
I always used to put a couple drips on the coil of an atomizer to keep it from not tasting burnt.

Once the tank is full and the Carto has been primed correctly No need to continue to prime. The juice fills the carto via the holes in the carto side. One hole or two depending on what you bought. IF you are using the IBTanked which I think is what you bought then use the "thingy" that comes with the tank to prime the carto

I have 3 IBTanked tanks, so of course, 3 thingys. I have read the info, but still have no clue how to "fiddle" with them. I suggested OCD make a video. In the meantime, I just fill the cartos and vape.

Exactly lol, this is so much better than atomizers!!
It really is unbelievable how much better the taste is on a cartomizer in a tank.
Like their is no comparison to an atomizer!
$1.69 for a week plus of goodness when an atomizer was ALWAYS causing me issues.
Thanks to all of you for making this happen and I can finally enjoy Cinnabomb!

After filling a punched carto and then filling the tank (already assembled, with filled carto 1/2 inserted), insert the cartomizer all the way into the tank w/o the drip tip. Then put the entire tank in the Thingy that it came in.

Open and close the Thingy's top. This creates differences in pressure within both the Thingy and the filled tank. You will notice each time that you do this that tiny bubbles escape from the cartomizer holes into the juice in the tank. You are in fact further priming the carto.

I've only done this a couple of times myself, but it really works. Don't over fiddle with your Thingy, or it may flood the cartomizer like I did the first time I tried this method. I just got so carried away with fiddling with me Thingy and watching the bubbles float in the juice.

Further first hand documentation on this new technique can by found on IBTanks supplier's thread here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/339809-do-you-fiddle-your-thingy-6.html#post7649464

Can I turn the Twist up to 4.8 volts on a 1.7 ohm cartomizer in a tank without it burning up?

in short: yes.

the amp limitation kicks in (by my totally inaccurate head-math) around 3.8 volts for that carto, meaning that even pushing 4.8 volts on the twist, you'll never get any more than 3.8 volts....now depending on the cartomizer, you can turn up the voltage past the rated voltage for beyond 8 watts...but generally i recommend going with at least a 2 ohm carto on the twist, as it gives you the full range of voltage on the twist...pushing up to about 12 watts
