I am a new PV user with a Ego C, which I am enjoying a lot. Got it this afternoon and have not had a real cigarette since 4:00. I have heard that you should not drag on a PV too quickly, but I do not know what is too quick. The quicker, I pull the more I hear a slight whistling sound. Can someone please let me know if the whistle is normal, or am I going too fast?

Many thanks!

Hi big, welcome to the ECF. You should remember that your PV will perform better with smooth, longer draws rather than heavy puffs(backwards of analogs). Most vapers take gentle pulls of about 5-8 seconds, but since you are new maybe start with a gentle 3 second draw and go from ther as per your own experience. vaping is much different than smoking in that respect. My first month or so I hadn't found the ECF, or any info on vaping for that matter and just kind of stumbled on to the fact that I was doing it all backwards, from then on my draw style changed, and for the better might I add.... Good Luck. Happy vaping.

What the above poster said definitely applies. However...

I might be able to help a little. I found this image awhile back. I have an ego-c and the whistling is likely due to your airflow not being adjusted. Yes, there is airflow adjustment on the ego-c and they usually dont tell ya everything when you buy it... lol.

Youll want to position the atomizer as shown in this thread for the juice you are using.

If you have thicker juices you may get some dry burning hits. If so, then your juice isnt wicking into the atomizer very well. Solution, add a drop or two of dw (distilled water) to your juices. I vape all vg juice so i have this issue a bit more often.

hope it helps. read that whole thread. itll help you understand the ego-c much better.

and keep going. you're doing great!

Thank you for the advice Iusedtoanalog and crazybones. I am now settling in at about 5 - 6 second draws, just as you recommended. Much better TH and as you said crazybones, if you don't hear the whistle it will perform better.

Crazybones, I have not had an issue with flooding that I know of yet. It's interesting, I didn't hear anything about flooding until now. I've actually been pulling a bit longer than I've been holding the button down on this PV so far and no ill effects. Guess I will stop doing that ASAP!

Thanks again!

Oh man, I'm getting that whistling on one of my ego-c as well. It's getting mad annoying. Wasn't there for a month and now all of a sudden it wants to annoy me. :glare:

And it's not going away.

edit: Ok I just had to clean it out thoroughly. Made sure the atty head was positioned just right, moved it around a little. WHISTLE IS GONE!

Thank you Buffaloguy!

Thanks for all the advice everyone. buffaloguy, I read the thread you linked to and there is a whole lot of good stuff there. Still experimenting with atty positions - tricky to get the atty to end in the position you want it to be in, but I think I got the hang of it. That, the slower drags and the suggestion from crazybones to hold the battery button a little longer than I draw has made a big difference in my vaping experience. Glad to hear this tread helped gurunade and ven_turous also.
