I have a Joye 510, and I love it. I have no issues, life is grande. I have a coworker who started with the Blu but recently purchased an Ego at a flea market. He got a great price, but literally no instruction and he is having some issues. He has unfilled carts, he says he puts in two to three drops on the filler and when he takes a drag, he gets a mouthfull of juice for the first 4-5 hits and it is killing his throat.

We chatted awhile about how I have taken to filling my carts, but I am a newbie and I have a different PV than he does, so I wasn't sure if there was a difference in how I would fill with my 510 and how he would fill with an Ego.

I also suggested he take longer slower drags, but he says the light goes out after two seconds when he does that (he has an automatic, whereas I have a manual battery)

I don't know how to help him (and it sucks because I am in Colorado and he is in Ohio and he is not interested in joining a forum.. not that i blame him... after doing what we do for work all day, it is hard to sit in front of a computer and find it fun).

TIA for the help!

The carts on a regular 510 should be the same as the carts on an eGo since the hardware (with a few exceptions) is interchangeable. Does he somehow have an automatic eGo battery? Regardless, the LED shouldn't be blinking at him after a couple of seconds unless it needs to be charged. Please say he got a charger! If it needs to be charged and he's trying to suck on it hard then that's probably why he's getting juice in his mouth.

The cart is going to be filled exactly the same as a regular 510. Take the filler out, drop in juice until it's about half to 3/4 full, put the filler back in and drip juice on the filler until it looks slightly slushy on top but not puddling.

This is my fear of having people buy PV's at fleamarkets...you don't really know what you're getting and there's no way to enforce a warranty because there probably isn't one.

Sorry your friend is having so much trouble!

Another thing, ensure he is holding his PV down at an angle from his mouth, not straight out like you would smoke an analog. That helps keep juice from running into your mouth. That along with slower, deeper drags, helps prevent you from getting a mouth full of juice. Not a 100% fix, but it helps. Good luck to your friend. :)
