Ego clone battery has threading with too wide of opening, tanks wobble/don't connect, how to fix? Use foil?

Hello, I've got an Ego-C Twist clone that used to work fine, but over time I think the threading has slowly worn down. Now the opening where my tank screws into is slightly too wide and I'm not able to twist in my tank securely.

Is there any way to fix this? I know I should get a new battery, but I can't afford one right now and also I hate to throw out a battery that works fine other than this threading issue. The threading is not stripped and hasn't been cross threaded, but its just too wide of an opening, just by a hair. I was thinking of trying to line it with aluminum foil to make it a tighter fit, but I thought before I try that I should ask you guys for suggestions.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to find a solution? If so, please let me know how I can save this battery! Thanks so much!

Don't use tin foil. While it might seem like a good idea, it's not designed to handle friction. The first time you screw the atty in, it'll shred the foil, and at best, you'll be picking bits of foil off of everything. At worst, it'll cause a bridge between the center post and the negative thread and create a short...thus frying your battery.

I would toss it, myself, pick up a new one or something else like an MVP2 or eLeaf iStick. That said...

You can try to find a 510-eGo adapter. It won't look pretty, but the adapter should screw in securely, but I can't promise that it won't have the same issue.

Also, when you're tightening in your tanks, make sure that you're just gently snugging them up, not cranking them down tight. They don't need to be screwed in tight, that can cause damage to the threading and the firing pin.
