EGO Cone as Juice Feeder

I don't know if anyone has tried this on their ego:
1) remove drip tip
2) Fill atty up about halfway with liquid
3) Put drip tip back on and blow through slowly until you feel the liquid went through the atty into the cone
4) vape
If the cone is on tight, the excess wont leak out. When you first start to draw you will feel the gurgling you get when you first drip but it goes away after about 2 seconds. I haven't had to re-drip for 15 minutes. I think the liquid goes into the cone and then is pulled through when you draw.

That sounds like maybe it could possibly work, not sure if it's a good idea though. I imagine the battery threads are getting really gunked up. I know manual batteries are sealed but I usually try to keep mine clean and dry just to be safe.

Bet that's going to be a little messy when you have to take your battery off to recharge. And isn't your vapor going to be reduced alot what with the flooded atty and all? Sorry, sounds like you might be asking for trouble with this one.

not to mention that the hot liquid, captured in your cone, will erode the exterior color of your atty and strip it to the natural steel finish

Hmm, well..I've never been one to shy away from an experiment so here it goes...

I started with a fresh battery and I am using 35% VG and a LR atty. I do expect some mess when I remove the cone but I'm on 30 minutes without having to re-drip. I use a stainless steel ego so Im not worried about the paint.

OK at first I tried to blow the juice back through the atty holes and nothing. I couldn't blow anything except my eyeballs and cheeks. Then I re-read and put the drip tip on. Some of the juice actually came out of the top of the cone(not too much). Then delicately started vaping, yep..gurgle a couple times but not too bad. Still vaping (about 30 tokes). I get a mess whether I do this or not. Usually when I take my cone off after a full battery run I had better have a towel anyway. I push the ego to the limit in the first place, l.r. atty...draws until the battery flashes at me...I run em so hot sometimes they blaze.
I think (so far anyway) this idea ROCKS!! I drive mucho around town most days and until my bottom feeder arrives this will work much better. I think I'll be able to skip a few stop lights for dripping. Fill up 3 of em like this and may last me an hour or more.

Of course if I start tasting paint or the threads break or it blows up I'll let ya know....but I honestly think it should have done any of those by now the way I abuse it.

Ya know, this actually makes a lot of sense.

One of the nice things I've noticed about the cone is that if you over-drip, the cone holds on to it, and eventually it gets sucked back in the air holes and vaped. So this makes good sense to me.

You'd want to be giving the threads a good cleaning every single day, but for the longevity of the vaping you get... sounds good.

I tried dripping for the first time yesterday and didn't really care for it. I didn't notice any better flavor or vapor (quite the opposite actually) from using carto's. However, this sounds pretty cool. I would imagine you would have to keep the unit upright to prevent juice from spilling out?

On a down side I do notice a reduction in vapor on my second fill up. The flavor is a bit off and this is probably due to a very wet atty. Now it is getting harder to draw.....hm...maybe not, but still I think the concept should be considered for juice feeders...kinda...somehow..maybe.

I don't think you could hurt anything by trying it...also I'm looking at my atty and it looks as if the wick is black so I will try with a de-bridged and de wicked atty. A regular atty may work better because it does get warm. I'll keep trying different scenarios.
How about you Irefine....any issues to report...Vapor?

Ok got 30 minutes..you dont need to take it all apart just drop 10 drops in and start all over

I got no juice in mouth either and no leaks

Yeh might not want to let the juice sit in atty, run it dry. Trying to finish up my second fill so I can go to bed (east coast). No need to take it all apart if you run atty dry...just add 10 drops (that is about 3/4 full on atty). This time I vaped more normal and I stilll have juice at almost 2 hours

Sounds messy, but prolly does work (somewhat) ... I think with this method you are working your lungs a lot harder to get a hit with any real vapor... I'll pass for now, as my lungs are shot from smoking for 20+ years. :-\

It is the same principle used in my AVS tank, the lower part of the atty sits in the juice. Of course this was designed specifically for that, is a sealed unit that can can be laid on it's side w/o leaking and has an adjustable draw. Personally I will never go back to dripping/carts/carto's

I switched to 20% VG from the 35% I was using and the draw got easier. Also, I just filled to a little above the atty bridge and it worked a little better.I laid it on it's side and it didn't leak, I think because to the cone shape. Maybe we should call it the po'boy AVS method

Just buy The Dripper notcigs for $15.00 and avoid the mes and the waste of juice you are having to clean up all the time. Or spend some money get a mod that is designed to work.
