Hey everyone! I have an eGo-CTwist (along with an original eGo), and my eGo Twist is taking FOREVER to charge.
I know it's charging because I always run my battery dead before charging, and was able to take it off the charger and take a couple puffs, but I've had it on the charger for nearly an entire day and the red light is not turning green (it did the first time I charged it).

It's about a 900mah or 1100mah model (the box listed 750/900/1100mah on the back), and I am using the charger that came with it (4.2V/420mA).

I'm currently charging it through my USB ports (I believe they're either USB 2 or USB 3, they're blue ports), and the first time I charged it I charged it via a wall USB charger.

Is it possible that the computer's USB ports are just charging it slower and I should resort to charging it only via the wall-charger, or is there something wrong?

It's a little frustrating having it sit on the charger for 6+ hours and not have the charger confirm that it's done charging (though, as I said before, it certainly is getting charged).

I got the eGo twist both because I liked the idea of varying voltage and because I needed another battery so that while one's charging, the other can be used.

Am I doing something wrong? Did I get a bad battery/charger?

Your ego charger is not USB 3.0 so using a 3.0 port has no advantage. Using a computer USB Port to charge is going to be slow, ever tried to charge a cell phone on it? Its super slow. I highly suggest using a wall adapter.

I just plug the ego charged into my outlet which has USB ports, no issues there.

I'll assume your battery is not a name brand like joytech or vision either... So a dud could be possible, but try the wall charger first. It'll take a few hours, maybe 2-4. If the battery won't charge up, just get a new one. I recommend vision spinner. It's the same vv rotary at bottom like a twist. The first version spinner comes in multiple sizes, and theres the vision spinner II which I believe only comes in 1600 mah thus far. I've gotten both of those from www.gotvapes.com both have been genuine.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's neither of those. It says Smoking Everywhere on the side or the box, so I think that's likely the brand.
I got these from a friend of mine that sells them (who was very amendment that I switch (and I'm certainly glad he introduced me)).

I will try wall charging again and see how it goes.

Thanks for the advice! ^_^

A red USB port can supply more current, but all ports should be able to supply the 420mA required. Just possibly you have an anally-retentive PC that limits the current to 100mA, as it is theoretically allowed to do, but if you have then it's very rare.

If the wall-charger doesn't fix it, borrow a new charger from your friend. A new charger is cheaper than a new battery and is pretty much as likely to have failed. If that works then talk to him about warranties ;)

Are the Joytech and Vision significantly better than the generics?

Will you notice any difference? Probably not but I had a generic ego-c and the flashes to lock/unlock are slow... But it still works fine, not sure if it had the same safety features as well like short circuit and cut off. What you will notice is quality. I can't speak much of joytech because I never used one of their ego bats, but they're the original on the ego style bats so they're knocked off so make sure it's genuine.

Vision is ISO9001 and other quality standards certified. That speaks to me because I'm in manufacturing related work. Never had a bad product from vision. Only thing is you'll be paying like 25 for a battery minimum for vision, where as some nameless ego would be like half the price.

You need a multicharger to always have a fresh one ready!! The USB chargers are garbage. I found this one:

Ebay item number 201110786197

It holds five batts, plugs into 110V, smart chip etc.. Spring loaded!!!

I noticed some of the USB's are tricky with by vision spinners and often short charge it even though it states green. I purchased one of these multi chargers and wow!!! its like a new battery!
