Looks like I'll be doing a serious Taryn Spin to get the liquid back.

Hi
I just got some of these and filled one-my first time to ever fill a cart and it worked great -then I went to top it off and overfilled
was trying to get the excess juice out and bent the center post-ruined it-how can I spin this to get the juice there's no condom
did it work for you?

    HINDSIGHT!!!

Heh, I wish I would have read through this thread a little before I bought one for my mine (gold/silver ego from madvapes). Specifically, wish I would have realized how easy it was to adjust the center pin on the batt as opposed to filing the skirt down - which was also easy, but messed with my custom button-guard and I sorta shaved a little too much off. Otherwise, good enough product...

Custom button guard??? Picts or description, please?

Mine came in the mail on Wednesday. They are everything I expected. All the great performance of the 510 dual coils, but huge! I got 95 drops in before I got a drip out of the connector end, compared to 55 in the 510 duals and 35 in the single coil units. I am really digging smok-tech cartos. They are all I've been using lately. :vapor:

Unfortunately, I screwed up one of the ego units right out of the gate. I wanted to see how big of a stick I would have so I screwed one on to an ego-T batt. Put it up to my lips to get the feel of it, and out of habit I guess, I hit the button. The smell of nasty burning innards is what I got. I put some juice in to see weather I ruined it or not,,,, yep,,, tasted awful. Fortunately, I ordered five, so I was happily vaping away within minutes.

So I took the opportunity to do an autopsy. They are exactly the same on the insides as the 510 duals, except the roll of filler is about twice as long. As I expected, the little fabric pieces that are wrapped around the coils were burnt through, some of the polly-fill was even burnt a bit. The fabric they use is not very heat resistant and burns unless it is very wet. I have some fiberglass fabric on order that should come in next week. I will be experimenting with using some to rebuild smoke-tech cartos. I'll post the results down in one of the technical forums once I have tested some theories. I think these cartos can be made to last much longer than they do, their weak spot is the fabric wrapped on the coils.

    Vape on!

Subconsiously you hit on that dry carto so you could take it apart and examine it...lol. Thanks for the insight, they stress in the ads the new improved more absorbant filler material, no one has thought to make it flame ......ant, but no one would want them adding any chemicals to the filler to achieve that. I had switched from filler cartos to tanks because I thought filler was gross but lack of flavor in the tank systems turned me back to cartos and the EMDCCs are the ticket. I also enjoy the Boge LR 2 Ohm, but they don't make a monster size like these.

But like you said, the fabric wrapped around the coils could be improved, some have reported slipping also, where the sleeve comes loose from the coil. But so far these are my favorites. I've been on one for 4 days now and it's going strong refilled 4 times and topped off several times. No burn flavor as yet. One area of impact is going to be how I order juice. The small 1/2 oz bottles are not going to last me long. Now we are dumping almost 4.5 ml of juice into one, I'm going to have to re-think my ordering process. These will be a boom to the juice vendors.

Yeah, maybe. lol I love to take e-cig stuff apart to see what makes them tick. Usually I wait til I wear it out.

Yeah, more toys. I just look at the spec pics. Most of this stuff is fairly simple design. I love when they say how many months go into R&D on some of these designs. And then they just leak all over the place when you try them. I've bought two ego-T B attys this month. Within 3 days the wicks have disintegrated. Take one apart and you'll see why. Could they spare the wick? Geez. I'm done with them. Smoktech is on the right track with these ego megas. I would like to see a smaller version, maybe holding 3ml of juice and a tad shorter, but with the ego diameter. And a choice of colors. I feel like I'm lugging around a huge stogie with these.

At this time, it's vaping fulfillment or fashion. I'll opt for fulfillment!

Which is why I'm opting to lug these around...lol. But heh, if they get as popular as I think they will, at least until the next generation of designs, they should consider a smaller version for us very petite peeps who like pink or white.

I just got an eGo kid with 4 of the EMDCCs and I absolutely love them. I've already gone through two fill-ups on one carto, still producing tons of vapor, flavor, and TH. No burnt taste at all, hopefully that will be the case for awhile.

I just love how much juice these things hold, combined with the 900mAh batts I can just throw the assembled unit in my pocket and be gone all day and not worry about having to re-charge a battery or drip/change/re-fill carts and taking a bunch of other crap with me.

I have not tried any other cartos, so I don't have anything to compare them too, but THESE are the standard I will judge anything else I try against, and from the sounds of it, that means my standards are now pretty high.

I actually really like how the unit looks and feels, it is a bit large, as I went from a cig-sized PV to this, but it really hasn't been a problem. I just throw it in my shirt pocket when I'm driving around, or in my pants pocket when I'm walking around, and have not yet felt "man, I wish this thing was smaller" It just hasn't been an issue for me. I also think it looks better than using a regular atty and cone.

I have read a lot about the smaller, single coil, mega cartos for the ego, and I can't imagine they would be anywhere near as good as these guys. If for no other reason, filling the other cartos seems to be a huge hassle when you have to use a needle and tweezers just to fill the thing. Popping off the rubber tip couldn't be easier, although I do think I'll look into getting a mega drip tip just to try out, and see if I can fill it without removing anything at all. I'm not sure how small the ID would be on the mega DT, but I'd imagine it should be large enough to make sure the juice flows down the side of the carto instead of straight down the middle.

Because I can't leave well enough alone I really want to take one of these bad boys apart, but alas I will have to wait until one craps out. Hopefully that won't be for awhile, though. What are the main issues with these as far as wear goes? Do they just start tasting really burnt, do the coils burn out, or does their performance just continue to drop off over time to the point where you no longer want to use them?

I've lost count - 7 or 8 days on the same cart for me - and it's still working like new. If anything, the flavor is better and richer than was when new. I think that some have used them longer than this and can still say the same thing.

I've been vaping 'em for over two weeks now without any issues. Due to curiosity, I did do a FLUSH and even after that I still think it's the best carto I've vaped. And I've vaped just about every eGo combo there is.

As has been said, they can get better for a while. Still waiting for one to fail or disappoint me.

I recently dissected a regular eGo mega cartomizer, and to my surprise it was only a piece of polyfill and a coil at the bottom encased in ceramic with a plastic casing. They vape alright but they break very easily in pocket. It's like having an ego atomizer using a cartridge, was thinking of cutting it and direct dripping - see how that goes.

I am on day number 8 with mine. I have not cleaned it out at all. All I do is fill and vape. It hasn't shown even the slightest signs of slowing down. It is still vaping just like new (not accounting for break in period). I have since ordered the kit that includes 4 of these things and 2 extras on top of that. I am also modifying a DSE 601 pipe to use this monster. I think I finally found the trouble free, consistent vape I have been longing for.

the number of days doesnt really paint a picture to others, as to how this carto differs from others. for comparisons sake, the amount of ml's you have ran through the carto would give us a clear picture. as of now, i use boge 2.0, i run about 15ml's through it before its ready to toss. My echo cartos last about 20 ml's.

Judging from Iffy's "FLUSH," I did absolutely nothing that would have caused my 2nd EMDCC to malfunction ... pretty sure it was a dud. I opened the 3rd one, just to try with a different flavor/nic level, and it works just as great as the first one, which is still working great on day 8. I've been using about 5+ ml per day and went to a very low nic level juice in the 3rd one. I don't seem to be able to tolerate that much nicotine in this carto, and I have juices everywhere from zero to 36 mg. It seems that this carto really dishes out whatever juice I'm using. I love that I don't have to "work" to vape anymore.

I've noticed the same thing. I got a bunch of 24-36mg juices because I'm used to using attys, which didn't give much TH, and you really couldn't feel the vapor in your lungs if I used any lower nic juices.

But with these dual coil cartos, it feels like I got punched in the lungs with the 36mg juice, it's just way too much. The 24 is tolerable however, I could still probably do fine with a lower level of nic though.

So far I've ran over 10mils through one carto and its still going strong, I don't know if it's all in my head, or if I'm just learning how to inhale to get the best vapor out of these, but it almost seems as if vapor production is BETTER now than it was when it was brand new. Thick clouds that you can't even see through, where as before there was still a ton of TH and flavor, but the vapor seemed a little airy or something.

Perhaps there is a break-in period for these, because they just seem to be getting better and better as time goes on.

-had this issue with a couple not firing really simple fix

I'm glad you were able to fix them. I really think they'll make some adjustments to the manufacturing process with these in the future. A few weeks from now, there won't be so many that won't seat properly. There were some quality control problems with the first run of the standard dual coils too, but they sorted it out, and now I haven't seen a bad standard dual coil in quite a while.
