I learn something new every day. Thanks for the info. As I don't have any of the EMDCCs I was not aware of the difference in filler material.
Right now my daily PV rotation consists of a Gogo, a KGO1100 with echo-e carto and a RivaSE with a Boge 2.0. All the filler material is very similar in all three cartomizers.

In the Taryn Spin video he puts the carto in a small pouch. I just use a long piece of heavy twine and attach it to the carto with a big rubber band, wrapped around several times. For drying a carto, there is no need for an end cap. Just go outdoors and give it a good spin. Also, the longer the twine, the higher the g-force, the more water is removed.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but drying time can be significantly reduced with the Taryn spin...

well, it was too late for me to use the taryn spin on the cartos i cleaned yesterday, but i did use it to fill a carto today!

i put my carto in a long, plastic newspaper delivery bag and secured it with a rubber band on the end and a twist tie at the top of the carto ... had good length for the spin with the long newspaper bag. it's nice to know that not everything e-cig related costs money.

thanks!!! :)

Good for you. Yes free helpful hints are the best. A plastic grocery bag will work also.

i haven't read thru all the posts yet today, so i'm not sure if anyone else supplied a link & photo for these end caps, but here's what they are ... for only $3 each if you get the whole carto (which i REALLY didn't like, btw). i'm glad i saved the end caps, but i'm not really sure we need them ... emdcc doesn't leak, after all.

LitecigUSA got the order out fast. The caps work great on the EMDCC. I'm sure they'll be worth the money spent to prevent the juice from drying out while the EMDCC is not in use. Thanks again for the link!

that is so great that you got your end caps! and you now have your kgo, too!! if your instructions were the same, you charge for 8 hours and vape for about 20minutes and charge for another hour? i'm too lazy to go get my instructions to refresh my memory. also, found i had to start charging mine for 6-8 hours every time they run down ... not a hassle for me with the great way they work. i know the green light comes on lots sooner, but i still leave them on the charger and seem to get longer vape time from them. so far, after 5 months, i've had no problems doing that. the titanium is really nice looking! :) oh, you can syringe fill those ego mega cartos and get 2-3 uses from them ... at least that's all i got. i hope you let me know what you think of those syringe-fill cartos. i think they're very strange. lol

Titanium KGO arrived today and it looks great paired up with the EMDCC! A battery is on the charger... Have to wait 8 hours on the initial charge. Can't wait to fire this baby up!

oh ... forgot to mention that if, while wiping the kgo batt with a cloth, the button pops off (only happened once with me), just pop it back on. i had juice leak all over mine, so i was probably wiping it down rather energetically! that set up really does look nice!! nice photos, too. :)

Day-um, sure wish my buddy was still flying copters; cartos taped on the end of the rotors...

Thanks everyone for sharing this tip. I had a few of these old mega cartos (dead) which I nearly pitched in the trash. But just now I removed the end caps to use with my emdcc's. Another free helpful tip. Love it!

@VeggieGirl, have you checked out this thread yet? There's a ton of information about flavorings. Also here there's some good recipes.

About using different flavors in one carto. I get tired of vaping the same flavor quickly so what I often do is parfait my cartos with similar/complimenting flavors. I'll fill part way with chocolate bavarian cream, then add some caramel cream, then add some pound cake or chocolate turtle pie... you get the idea. It works better to drip it in rather than using a syringe. It's kind of fun to get a different flavor experience with each inhale. Then if I mess up and don't like what it tastes like I add a strong coffee that I infused using Starbuck's. It's strong enough to cover most mistakes. I also like my vape very sweet so I add stevia and ethyl maltol.

I did order a 5mil syringe along with the mega cartos... to fill the EMDCC. Quick and easy fill. Right now the ego mega cartos along with my 510-t have been relegated to the e-cig bone pile until recalled for later use. Much, much later...Ha! Havin' too much fun with my new titanium cigar.:)

Yup. I should have never talked about filing the skirt down. Battery center post or carto center pin lifting are better ways to deal with it. I'm 100% recommending the carto center pin adjustment now though. If someone gets over-zealous lifting the battery post, it could be damaged. If someone gets over-zealous lifting the carto center, it can be damaged but doesn't cost nearly so much to replace. - And filing the skirt down might or might not work, plus leaves metal shavings, and can be problematic like you experienced.

Sorry about that.
Nothing to be sorry about :2cool: :D
(geez, where'd the time go - tons more pages in this thread since my last post!)

Anyway, I tried lifting the pin on the carto, but it wouldn't budge and I didn't want to get over-zealous and pop it out - so I'm back to filing-down the skirts. I'm handy and this is fine by me. This way, I'm figuring there's no way to accidentally kill the carto or my battery - besides, these are technically disposable anyway ;)
Only real issue is the metal shavings - stuffing some tissue in the end before hand keeps the shavings out of the connector. Draw seems the same whether I file it down to where the air-notches are completely gone or file in new notches. My most recent is completely flat. (YMMV)

Still using my Clearos occasionally, and I've noticed the EMDC's hit seems a bit dryer. Also noticed that I need to hit my 2.6ohm clearos with at least 5v to get the same TH... but the cloud with the clearos at that voltage seems more dense and seems to condense in the mouthpiece more than the EMDC's at "ego-clone-voltage."

Custom button guard??? Picts or description, please?
Sorry, I missed your post in the sea of replies in this thread
I thought about making a "ego-clone ghetto-button-protector thread" but didn't think there'd be much interest... anyway, it's just a small section of empty register-roll (plastic tube) with a button-size hole in it. Fits snugly around the button and makes the button flush w/o having to mod the batt at all. I pretty'd it up a bit with a dremmel lol

EDIT: the part about the EMDCC messing with the guard was solved with better de-burring of the filed end ;)

Has anyone had a problem with these killing ego batteries? It killed one 1,000 mah ego and it may have killed a second 900 mah one.

I'm running 5 of them, including one pass through without a problem of any kind. Were the ones that died close to a natural death anyway? I don't know what's considered old, but all 5 of mine are over 4 months old.

thanks for the link and thread ... will check them out asap! also, what a great idea about the parfait ... as long as all the flavors are ones you like and don't mind a little mixing. i just adore the chocolate bavarian cream(!), too, but haven't tried the caramel cream yet. yum ... turtle pie! i just did my own dark-roast coffee flavor, too, (think that's what you meant) and it worked pretty well to improve on a couple of the chocolate/coffee flavors i have that were a little weak and lacking in real coffee flavor. did you do all this using the emdcc? i've used stevia for a sweetner, too, but not sure what the other one is. mostly i just use stevia and xyletol so that's all i have at home. thanks, again! :)
