i did get a buncha bad ones! using the same juice mix on all of the, only 1 worked right. i tried different juice mix combinations to see if maybe that was the case....but nope.

Really sorry to hear that. It's a shame when an otherwise stellar carto just doesn't work - madvapes does guarantee DOA cartos, maybe opening a ticket there would get you some replacements.

I haven't had anything that I needed to send back. I do have a question about DOA policys. How soon after the order do they need to know?

I have 5 or 6 EMDCC's on hand right now. I've used 2 of them. It could be a couple of months before I get to the end of that batch.

It's not like a TV or a computer where you bring it home from the store, set it up, and if it's DOA you know it that day.

Might be better to ask in the MV forum but here's their warranty policy -

Policies, Terms and Conditions:

but the order page for EMDCCs says they replace DOA units only, even though their terms and conditions say no warranty on cartos.

i wondering if "doa" means that the cartos just don't fire? i hope vhal will let us know if mv will stand behind their guarantee in this case. i have plenty that could be replaced ... but replaced with what? wish they could replace them with the original emdcc's. :(

DOA means "dead on arrival" so it would be misfiring, not firing or a bad coil, I imagine. A mechanical failure as opposed to poor or mediocre quality, as we've been seeing with this batch of emdccs. I ordered more with the nippletop a couple days ago for the lady and her new ego stuff, so well see if anything has improved with the alternate tip variety, since I think our quality issues have all been whistle tips.

Not really, we are having problems with the baby bottle tip emdccs, those are the newer ones and also the new whistle tips that were in the blue/greenish wraps. The problems with the old emdccs that MV first supplied were related to connection pins but they vaped great...these new ones have an airflow problem and are so hard to draw my jaws hurt after using one for awhile. I just ordered some new 1.7 Smoktechs from CCV to try on the new KGOs. Might be my next go to carto if they don't improve future batches of the emdccs. On a lighter side Sweet Vapes is selling a new 2.0 dualie, which would be a tad cooler than the 1.5's.

Has anyone left a bad review on MV yet for the latest version? Maybe we should all pay them a visit....

Edit: Got my new KGOs charged, well one of them, and WOW! :vapor:

i left a glowing review for the emdcc's on mad vapes when i first started using them the beginning of july. mad vapes does not allow updates on their reviews (as some sites do), so, if you've already left a review, whatever you said channot be changed or updated at a later date. however, the whistle tips seem to be a different item now, so maybe i'll be able to get another review in ... a not so glowing one, this time. also, they changed their reviews so you are forced to leave your first and last name now ... or is that just me? maybe i won't leave another review. :(

I'm headed over there now VeggieGirl, I can still do a review on both models.....I will be polite but firm.....

Edit: left a review, no spell checker and noticed I had a typo after I saved the review. They will not let you edit your reviews so triple check 'em before you save. They also use your full name, not too cool, but do not pass your email address, with all the raves on there I'd probably get hate mail.

i read your review, joanr, and i think it was excellent! everything you said hit home for me and then some. one thing, tho. did you happen to notice that the whistle tips don't have "smok" printed on them anymore (not in the picture, at least)? maybe mv has gone back to the originals? i'm not going to be the first to order them, tho. i already have too many that don't work properly (may have actually injured my throat from trying to draw on the darned things ... did feel something pop in my throat, and it still hurts). thank god i found a couple of the very first ones i had bought back in the very beginning of july! this is just a guess, but i noticed their stock of whistle tips had gone to zero the other day, so i'm thinking they took those whistle tips with "smok" on them off the site and had another order on the way ... and it finally came in. just a guess. does anyone know what really happened? maybe they just turned the ones with "smok" on them around and took another photo? lol sorry for being so cynical, but, hey, i don't have enough money to be tossing on equipment that doesn't work as it should!

i opened a ticket at MadVapes and after talking with them and trying one of their suggestions (pulling up the battery connection pin) they agreed to send me some replacements. sucks that ive got about 12ml of juice wasted on trial and error with these.

i also ordered some of the EMDCCs from VapingZone just now. while a 5 pack is a bit more expensive with shipping and all that, if they perform better it will be worth it. will probably be monday of next week by the time i get them.

i will keep you guys posted on how cartos from MV and VZ end up working

Interesting that they asked you to raise the pin on the battery instead of on the carto.

I like the VZ cartos and I'm guessing you will too. Not sure how you could spin the juice out of a dead EMDCC since they don't come with condoms, but I'm sure if you searched for Taryn spin here, got the general idea and then spun the juice out of the bad cartos you could recover a fair bit of it.

spin the juice out of them? hah thats a new idea. well im not too concerned with it. i used mostly this peach juice i got from MFS. it tastes like ... so i dont care if it goes to waste really. going to be putting that stuff in my PIF grab bag whenever i get around to posting it.

im wondering if all these crappy juices im soon getting rid of actually taste crappy or if its my atomizers... *shrug*

update: i put a ticket in at mad vapes and will see if they will do anything. i think i've recommended and bought enough of these to deserve some kinda of recompense. if they actually have some emdcc whistle tips that work, i'd like to try them. so maybe they will at least replace a few of the ones i bought this last time.

i also noticed that some people are putting reviews under the wrong emdcc's ... mistaking whistle tip for baby bottle tip emdcc's, as one reviewer stated ... he obviously left his review in the wrong place and reviewed what he ordered instead of what mv actually sent him.

another update: in noticing the photos of the 2 emdcc's on the mad vapes site, when looking at the metal part of the skirt on each of them, i see that even the coloring of the aluminum (or whatever it is) is different ... just like i said they were. the whistle tips mv is selling now might be the same as what they first sold, as the metal isn't yellowish like the ones with "smok" printed on them are.

No, they actually taste crappy, I've got several here myself. I buy from 2 vendors and do the rest DIY. Then I can only blame myself if it tastes bad, and usually they come out very well.

Not sure that they ever changed the pic of the flat tips to the branded flat tips, just can't remember. I ordered the second batch of flat tips several weeks ago and they shipped me the branded ones. I know the bottle tips where always pictured with the SMOK brand. Anyone recall?

So how do they die? Everything dies.

The old style cartos just grunge into a pile of munge and taste like doo after a few refills.

The Echos seem to start out great, then after 25 ml or so, a week maybe, they take longer to produce vapor, and less of it, and then MUCH longer. The taste remains good. Some people dismantle and clean them. I guess you retire them to the box when they get too weak? .

I find the CE2s impressive, if they are prepped by pulling up the wicks a bit and replacing the silicone cup loosely. The long XLs have decent capacity, and seem to keep going and going, the taste stays. I guess they die when they clog up or you break a coil?

So what about the EMDCC, its decline and demise ? When and how do they go bye? Any deathbed narrative ?

Harder draw, less flavor. I ran one for a month, carefully running a straightened paper clip up the thing about three times a week and a coil died at exactly 30 days.
