Hi all
I have ego one small cylindral e -cig

I see there is a filter inside(1 ohm) and the shop told me to change it every 2 weeks

Is that correct?

Another question is when do I know is time to change it?

The 'filter' is the atomizer (zerstäuber).

2 weeks is a long time, but possible.

You will know, as the taste and vapour will get worse.

Never run the tank totally dry or you will ruin the filter/atomizer.
If you do and get a burned taste it is trash. The taste will not go away.
Also when you install a new filter/atomizer you need to give it a few minutes for the eliquid to soak in or it will give the burned taste.

Hi TraceKira. Welcome to the ECF.

The "filter" is what we refer to as a "Coil Head" or just a ""Coil". And what it goes into (the part that Holds the e-liquid) is called an "Atomizer".

It's hard to say how often you will need to change the Coil Head? It depends on how much you Vape. And How Many times you refill your Atomizer.

You'll now when it is time to Replace the Coil Head. Because the hit you get will start to taste Burnt. Kinda like the Taste of Burnt Marshmallows.

The key if you are using an e-Cigarette to Not Smoke is to have a couple of Extra Coils Heads on hand so you Never Run Out. The same goes for e-Liquid. And also having and Extra eGo One Battery.

The shop you bought from should have sold you a few extra coils and showed you how to change and prime them.

If I were you, I would go back to the shop you bought from (or a different one) and ask them to show you how to install a new coil. Buy a 5 pack for $10-15 to ensure you have extras. Make sure they are not fake/knock off coils as authentic ones are generally of better quality and not much more $$$. I have had coils last 3 weeks and I have had them die after a couple of days. QC is not the greatest with most coils as they are inexpensive little things mass produced in China.

Good luck. All aspects of vaping are super easy to learn but hard to teach yourself.

YouTube is a great way to learn as well.

Just to throw in another wrinkle. I use the CLR coils for my ego one. I like these better than the CL coils. The CLR are rebuildable, so if you ever get into that, you can rebuild them instead of buying new. You can however use them just as replaceable coils.

As for how long they last, as others have said, it will depend on how much you vape. It will also depend on your liquid. Darker, sweeter juices will tend to gunk up the coil faster that lighter liquids. I use unflavored liquid (which is the lightest liquid you can get) and I can get 50-75 mil thru a coil before I need to change it which is 10-15 days.

That is actually Very Good that you mentioned the CLR Coils.

Because even if the OP doesn't want to Rebuild the now, they might want to in the Future. And the CLR Coils don't really cost all that much more than the Non-Re-Buildable ones.

3 Days does seem a Tad Short.

About how much e-Liquid do you use per Day?

I use 5 -7 ml. But thins thing should last at least 1 week...

I use about the Same amount per day. And I can Usually get about a Week out of a Coil Head. Maybe a Tad Less than a Week.

Might be that your First Coil Head was a So-So Coil Head. It happens.

I tried 3 of them , all of them got busted, dry , plastic smell hits
Also found many people have this issue with ego one
Also the 0.5 ohm last only one day !! As someone said on youtube

"A little warning for all you out there thinking of purchasing the Joyetech eGo ONE. The 0.5 coil they send out with-it is only intended to last around one day (if your taking a pull once every 10-15mins). When I first received it I left the coil to soak for around 20mins, even dripping a few drops into the coil head itself. Standard stuff. But after two pulls I got nothing but burnt hits. I contacted joyetech, and they were fantastic, sending me a brand new coil the next day. I left it to soak for 20mins again and I managed to get 7 hours use before nothing but burnt hits again. I contacted them again saying the coils still aren’t wicking sufficiently and they told me directly that 0.5ohm coils are only intended to last a day!!! I don’t know about you but if I had known this I wouldn’t have brought one. So for anyone out there thinking about getting one for its sub ohm capabilities, be warned, you will only get a day out of your coil. It’s frustrating as all the bigdogs on youtube are giving it great reviews and I want to warn people. Stick with subtank coil or Atlantis if you want to subohm for more than a day. (please note I’m talking about cleromiser tanks not rebuildable). If you build your own coils… fill your boots and don’t even worry about the eGo ONE."

I want to update , I feel absolutely like I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes yesterday when I wake up today this morning
The burned coil really damaged my throat and lungs and I spit some black goo...This is no joke , these devices are dangerous for one simple reason when the coild is burned and gives u the burned chemicals it does it gradually and when u feel it is kinda too late. Also the Chinese quality of ego one .... for sure no quality control , and when I searched the net there are more peaopel complaining if their product .
I wonder why all reviewers gave then maximum score and only one gave them their lowest note for their shi**y quality (burn taste , spill liquid , spill liquid in mouth , overheat)
    I felt all of then

Man , and I thought vaping was the solution , is not , and for sure can be more dangerous than cigarettes , and I suspect might damage your lungs quite quickly (weeks/moths)
I will go now to the vape shop and throw the defective device on their floor and also wanr their other customers of this .... + I will make an youtube video to want other people of this dangerous products

I hope that you do not give up vaping over this experience. Perhaps trying a different device? I know it can be frustrating finding what works for you and getting equipment that is not working properly doesn't help. Just as a side note, I can get much longer life with my coils, I clean them with alcohol (vodka) by rinsing them in water first, then letting them soak in the vodka for several hours and air dry them overnight.
