That should look good.View attachment 648331
Here is megav2 that needed new base, only one on hand was a black one .
The black color was sanded off and one can see the copper showing in spots.
May eventually take whole tank down to copper color and then polish it with dremel.
The new resin finish ones?Just checked fastech order of 1 of 3 pico -s due to arrive this coming Monday as it has passed via
ISC Chicago office -i'm in illinois.
If by chance it arrives early enough Saturday before we leave for weekend trip to casino it will get a real good tryout there. Someone will be here if package needs to be signed for .
Not sure what resin finished ones means but its this one that comes with clr adapter kit.The new resin finish ones?
Oh oh, duh! Thought you were talking about the Pico mod in multiple hence the -s. Had totally spaced off that tank that I've seen mentioned a gazillion times lately. Not sure what resin finished ones means but its this one that comes with clr adapter kit.

Puf- Your good- may I ask where you found the photo of the airlow base ?
It looks to a pressed fit and not intended to be taken apart but that has not stopped me in the past
As you noted: the diameter of the coil surely can play with the air passage. I have settled on a drill bit between 2.5 and 3mm so the wicking is sufficient to fill the side cut outs of the coil.
I find it interesting how ones tastes can change quite quickly. When I first switched from the Pro Tank to the Mega I never thought I would use the the airflow fully open as I do now.
Last night I read the first few pages of this thread and had to chuckle. I saw it didn't take you long to make this change as well.
Hehe, yeah I did one so close to the top cap I was afraid it might short out.lol , well they just about got it fool proof
there is enuff space over-n-under the wick (inside) that if you just stay with-in the square window they give you, all is good...
heck, there is enuff room to drive a truck in there...
the only real restriction will be the hole in the center pin
then if you cover it up with a large diameter wick (as in previous picture) air flow will be decreased from filling the chamber
Jus soooooo darned purty!!!!
Finally Figgered out a safe damage free fix. Managed to get a tiny sliver of toothpick stuck between the AFC ring and base. Most likely temporary but I gots a whole box of toothpicks.I have one gripe with my V1s. It's the variety of different tightness on the AFC ring. 1 is so tight that I have to dig a fingernail in to move it. Another is so loose that the slightest touch will move it. The other 6 are everywhere in between.
The loose one is the really annoying one. Can anyone suggest a fix?
just watched this very good show about vaping - documentary style - it moves pretty qwik and is very modern - about 40min long and a good watch...
