eGo or VP-PT?

So I was thinking about getting a VP-PT when I started reading about the eGo and watching the reviews. I like the idea of not having to worry about batteries with the PT but the life of the eGo battery seems that it more than make up for that, and it just looks so slick

I have a Spade right now and I love it, but I'm gonna pass it on to a family member in hopes of them switching over to vaping. While I mostly vape at my pc, the PT seems nice. . but i'm not sure if i want to be tethered down by a wire and give up being able to vape when I go out.

Would love to hear some input from you all.

A week is a good land mark, I have a TW 510 PT, dont realy like it. To me it seams the performance is not as good (but better than nothing!). I did have a cheap 401 PT which was realy good though (no battery). Used it all day at my PC in work.
Now I have the TW PS and a charger that "live" plugged into my works PC.

I own an eGo...simply awesome. I thought I wanted a PT as well, but the eGo more than makes up for the lack of that with awesome battery life. I regular go 1-2 days on a single battery before it goes dead, and there is NO decreased performance. In fact, there's no warning whatsoever that your battery is nearing the end of it's charge.

Get an eGo, you won't be disappointed.

I have both...tough decision IF you have to choose one. The VP PT is great...and it is a 5volt device. The cord, at first, seems a bit cumbersome but it doesn't take long to get used to it. The eGo is a wonderful 3.7volt device. IF I had to choose just one, I guess I'd go with the eGo due to its portability...just glad I didn't have to choose, lol.

I am waiting on my tornado (ego) but I have the VP-PT and I LOVE IT .... it is strong and durable nice little stand and everything and vaping from the ac adaptor is excellent..... now if you want to be battery free go with a pt no doubt.

honestly It is hard to say one or the other because a battery mod and a pt mod are two different beasts.... I think everyone should have at least one of each.

now if your budget doesn't allow you to purchase both... go for the ego AND a basic ecig pt...

I have both also and I really love my ego, I started using it with the mega 510's that TW sells and it's even better!

I also like my VP-PT but only with a 510, to me it tastes too harsh with an 801 0r 901.

They are both great devices, I would really have to suggest both!

That is a toughie for me since I believe they fill two completely different niches.
I say get both because while I have the tornado/ego and love it I still want the vp-pt for lounging around on the couch reading or watching tv or whatever while it is plugged into the wall.

For me, the PT option seemed like a great idea... When it arrived and I started using it, not so much. I suppose if you live in front of your computer, or don't mind being tethered to a wall plug, or carrying around a USB Power pack (as I did, and grew to hate), then a PT is a great idea. It just became such a PITA to get up and run out for a few hours, expecting to use the PT.

Moving to Mods saved me from the PT, which I ended up selling. But the size and weight of my mods still bothered me (along with a ton of negative attention... Stock ecigs are "cute toys", my mods made people nervous!). Call me picky, but the hassle of vaping really started bothering me...

Then I got my eGo and have been content ever since. It might not kick like a mule like my Prodigy, but the batteries last longer and the flavors seem to come through better. The size is TINY (it weighs half as much as my Protege, with near identical vaping performance). The ONLY thing the eGo/Tornado have going against them is the cost of proprietary batteries... At $16 each in bulk, they aren't cheap but also don't have the $100+ up front price tag like a mod or the cost of "accessories" like a USB power pack and/or USB wall plug for a PT.

I'd say, if I was sitting in one place for more than 4 hours at a time (less than half the battery life of my eGo), then a PT MAY be feasible. Otherwise, the portability and huge battery life of the eGo make it an easy choice.

+1 for the eGo, it has been *MY* perfect PV, so far... Until something better comes along, which, in this industry, will be any day now!

edit: Might want to look at the Janty Stick, as well. Has the benefits of a passthrough, but is also portable. I have one, but no longer use it as the eGo fits my needs better.

The VT/PT is great..had the pleasure of trying one the other day.
Also like the spade, but if you want that extra hit try waiting till later in Feb. when the new "joker" comes out. It's like the spade or Vp but with 5volt output. Go over to the VaporTalk forum and see some of the reviews.

thanks for all the great feedback! still a tough choice lol. Now made even harder because i'm sure my money will be falling short. I'm finishing my move to richmond, va and recently found out there's a liquid supplier store 15 min walking distance from my building lol.

As of now though, i think i'm definitely leaning towards the eGo I love my spade and it is sexy looking. . but if i pass that on to my brother, well... i cant have his PV looking better than mine

After a lot of serious thought. I wouldn't mind having a high volt, but i think portability is definitely still a must for me. I don't vape much at work, but it's there the few times i need it and probably saving me a lot of heartache with analog craving.

As much as I hate to admit to myself . . I'll probably end up getting both . . but def the eGo first, haha.

The VP-PT is an excellent unit, performs well and is very sexy indeed!

But consider this - a "BB" & a "BB-PT" would give you the best of both worlds if you are willing to splash the cash on them.

Insane battery life and complete mobility with the BB and 5v vaping when you add the PT to it.

I love my eGo so I am another one for that. I also want to try a 5v pt and madvapes has them for 15 bucks and alot of good reviews on them. They are out of stock now but when they get them in I will buy one so I can see how 5v is. So I say go with the eGo and buy a 5v pt from madvapes when they come in.

I only have the eGo, but am planning on a VP PT when they're back in stock.

I love my eGo and it's excellent battery life when out, but for home the VP would be sweet. Especially at 5v's.

Depends on where you do the majority of your vaping I guess.

I have them both and can't do without either. The VP-PT is great for when I am sitting at home on the couch. I use the ac adapter and vape away all day on it with no issues whatsoever.

When I am out and about or at work I take the Tornado with me and the battery life has been awesome!

If I had to choose just one, I'd go for the ego/Tornado... If you can swing them both, then do so as you won't be disappointed with either...

Can you tell me where this is at? I didn't think places around here sold it, but then again I don't know people who use electronic cigarettes and I just order a disposable kit today to try it out.
