That's great news and a very nice write-up Stove. I'm sure many people will be able to use this info. Since the eGo is still a relatively "young" device, sometimes this kind of stuff is necessary until the manufacturers come up with a more robust system. I remember when everyone was doing the "Straw mod" and "Teabag mod" on their old 510 cartridges. These worked pretty well for the time, but I guess the real solutions to those issues were cartos and tanks. If the powers that be will let us vape long enough to find out, I'm really curious to know what people will be using 10 or 20 years down the road. I've already heard about some pretty amazing upcoming battery advancements (not necessarily for e-cigs but for batteries in general) that I am REALLY looking forward to seeing when they are applied to real life. Even the e-cig advancements we have seen in the last couple of years are mind-blowing. Some aspects of the eGo are good examples of this.
I know I'm kind of old-school when it comes to straight dripping all the time, but like you noticed, it just doesn't really get any better than that. So many people just now getting into vaping think that tanks and such are the standard, and many don't know the full history of device progression. It's kind of like how people originally smoked cigarettes with no filters (even rolled their own). Once filters came around, that was the standard but everyone knows if you want FULL flavor, SERIOUS throat hit, etc, that filterless definitely provides. Not many people smoke pipes anymore, but for a time I found that to be much more satisfying than cigarettes. Old technology isn't always better, but sometimes old technology sets the bar so high that nothing else can ever quite reach it. Look at Zippo lighters! To me, direct dripping is the "Zippo" of vaping. I do however really appreciate the "new" advancement of Low Resistance. To each their own though, and trying the new stuff never hurts. That IS how we advance.
