So I tore one of these apart...figured out how to fix my issues with any dry hits. I tried my best to burn the crap out of it...tried cleaning the atomizer a few different ways. Killed an atomizer...fixed an atomizer...and overall...I'm pretty happy...but get out your blanket...kick your heels up...because this is a 15 minutes video...sorry :(

It seems like there should be either more (thicker), or a longer piece of, the wicking material below the spike. I'm hoping they continuously improve on this system, because the dry hits and burning flavor (probably from a starved atty) are common in comments about these. I'm not sold yet, but that was a nice review.

Any comments on juice consumption? It seems a common complaint is that these use juice at a far greater rate than carts or cartomizers, or dripping for that matter. Since the T doesn't really seem to be a great producer of vapor or flavor, I have to wonder if the black gunk you saw in yours (and others have reported) is left-over juice (burnt?) or flavoring material, because all that extra juice has to be going somewhere, if not into vapor and flavor.

I use about 2ml of juice a day with this unit...which is probably around the same amount I would use in a cartomizer. I think it seems like you are using much more juice because you can actually see the level of what is left...but overall...it's probably just a bit more then normal.

My little trick for poking the wicking material down very gently has gotten a lot of these working correctly for people. I use a 20/80 mix and get tons of vapor...but it is still less then I would get with a cartomizer.

I think that build up on the atomizer is pretty normal...I've seen it on E2 cartomizers...I normally fill up a syringe and "power wash" the atomizer on a E2 to get that stuff off. With the T...you can't get directly to the atomizer without removing the wicking spike.

Honestly...if you have an eGo/Inferno/T-Rex I would at least grab an atomizer and give it a try.

Very very great and in-depth review. I appreciate your efforts in this and have to say you've helped me make my decision to get some of these things. Have you tried running the alcahol through the atomizer as a way of cleaning it vs just soaking it. Or soaking it then running it through many times? I've heard of good success with this method but have no first-hand expierience with it.

I have one of these on order. After pushing the wicking material down, you never indicated A. How far down to push it. B. how do you know its pushed down. C. How do you actually clean it, or is that not possible due to the design. E. After pushing it down, is this a 1 time solution or something that you have to keep doing? I am very interested in these. Please let me know what you have found?

Thanks. It seems your experience is different from that of many who use these. I keep hearing "eats up juice like crazy", which to me starts to negate the fact that they hold more juice. How easy is it to carry extra tanks? Do they leak when filled and loose in a pouch or similar? I don't mind using more juice (it's pretty cheap, after all), but if it only lasts as long as a couple cartos, I don't want to bother.

I just worry about the fact that it's not very easy to clean the atty. They aren't cheap compared to cartos, and I don't mind carrying a couple extra cartos around, knowing that when they get gunked up, I can toss them at less than $2.00 a pop. Or 510 attys for that matter: they're cheap enough to toss when they get nasty. With the tank system, I'm stuck tossing a $16 atomizer, probably about as often as a 510 at $7, or a carto at less than $2.

Hmm...:)

A. How far really depends on what you see when you look down the atomizer. For me...I moved it down about a millimeter and it made a world of difference.

B.You know it's pushed down if you stop getting dry burns for most of your hits.

C. You can clean it like you would a normal atomizer...and then probably do a dry burn to break off any build up. The thing is so new that I'm not sure how well this will work.

E. Pushing the wick down is a one time thing.

Don't get me wrong...I do think it pulls a little more juice the normal. But I think it's been over exaggerated by other people. While at work I go through one tank...and then probably half a tank after work. They only hold 1.1 ml of liquid if you fill them all the way up.

I've been carrying one 30ml bottle of juice in my pocket and I just fill up the same tank over and over. After you puncture a tank they have cart condoms that fit on the bottom incase you just want to carry two used tanks with you. I don't know how well that works...but I can test it out for you. I can't imagine it working well...but we'll see.

I'm pretty sure I killed my atomizer by boiling it and not waiting for it to dry before trying to use it. It had lasted me a good 3 weeks. I have back up atomizers now so that I can give an atomizer more time to dry next time. I know others have used alcohol and that might be better then boiling.

Hot water rinse, then a PGA soak or rinse, then take the hairdryer to that Atty and blow every bit of wet stuff out and really good, dont hold it to close but close enough for the hot air to get in and through the Atty, it will be bone dry in no time, then put about 5 drops of PG in it to re prime it, it's now ready.!

Can you post pics of the wick and spike? It's a little hard to make out in the video and I have an atty that is "dryer" than my other ones. It still works, it's the one I need to prime.

I tried to take some pictures but they didn't come out. Sorry Man. I've done this with two atomizers and had great success. Basically...push your wick far enough down that it's just slightly below the "lip" of the lowest point of the spike. Follow?

Very nice video...I'm dusting off my eGo & Riva as we speak, and should expect the T to arrive next week.

I'm also dusting off my old 510 adaptor that I used to power my eGo's off a 510 charger...going to try using the T on a mod that I have...can I vap this T at 5 or 6V?

I wouldn't recommend vaping these attys at 5-6 volts. The ones I have measured are in the 2.5ohm range. At 5 volts that would be putting out about 10 watts. Even if you didn't blow the atty, the heat would be a little too high in my opinion.

Great review. and I tend to agree about usage, I do not think it uses any more than the 510 we used before the Tornado T.

My wife is the one who uses it, but I always refill it for her, and given the amount of juice it holds, I am filling much less than I did with the carts on the 510.

Vapor production is like the best her 510 ever produced (and it rarely did its best).

Taste took some time to build up it seems...but she's rather pleased with the flavor now

My wife says she will never look back at a 510 (Titan) after using the Tornado T. We've been using it approx 3 weeks, used the same tank for that entire time until 2 days ago when she broke that tank. We have used the same atty for the entire time, no dry burns, no anything. Every few days I'll blow out the excess liquid, and start over, but that's all the maintenance that we've done. No leaks, no problems at all. She also states she hasn't had any dry hits (unless the tank is empty).

The only fluid she has found that she likes is from awesomevapor.com and its their Camel flavor (tastes nothing like a camel, but for her that's a good thing.) So that's what we've been running through it. I did just get some fluid from Don @ Backwoods in, and am letting it steep for a week or two before giving it a shot.
