i have been using a bamboo wick now for 2-3 weeks it burns as good as silicon and much cheaper .. i use 1 strand doubled in an EGO-T wrapped in PTB .. using rewicking guides from this site .. hope this helps some save $

i used aunt lidias iced bamboo crochet thread with the metal thread removed ...

also: from what i have been reading here bamboo is much safer to use for a wick !

Walmart might even have it. Most have a yarn/craft section, and I've found cotton there. Bamboo is one of the new/trendy fibers, so good chance you'd find it there. Also the other 'craft' stores: Michaels, AC Moore, HobbyLobby, etc. I recall seeing a post about finding NiChrome wire at one of those, for hot-wire cutting of foam.

I've been thinking about crochetting (or knitting or tatting or...I do 'em all) a holster and lanyard, but wondered about the way cotton/bamboo would absorb any stray ejuice leaks, and thus become discolored, and possibly nicotine-laden (I do use clearomizers on occassion)

LOL know the very basics of crocheting due to my mother trying to raise the perfect bachelor...

I know how to sow and cook too. But i let my wife handle all the "dirty" work =P
 I thought 'sowing' was dirty work? Or do you leave the sewing to your wife?:D
Scroll over to the Modding Forum, there you'll find an Extremely Informative thread called Wick Material. Safe vs Dangerous. All the information you may require concerning safer wicks is to be found there.
Just remember always boil non sterile cottons and the like.
