OK, just got back into vaping after two years. Before, I invented a tank system, and it resulted in the same problems current tank systems have, lots of flavor, less vapor. I think my design was superior, it leaked less...

I just broke down and tried carts. I always avoided them because I wanted to avoid another consumable product. Well, my loss.

Entering back into the game, I purchased the following:

Two variable voltage Ego-T kits from Welcome to Vapor Age - Step out of the smoke..... (props to them!)
5 2.4-2.6 ohm .8ml carts
5 2.4-2.6 ohm 1.2ml carts
3 LR tank atomizers
a couple of tips
a couple of cones
various juices from various vendors

OK, my decision was very quick and decisive. I had very poor results with the Ego tank, as is, out of the box. Very strong flavor hits at any voltage selection, very poor vapor production, and every tank I filled ended up running down my fingers (leaking). I tried with a couple atomizers, thinking it was a poorly machined atomizer. Not the case.

I then went to the cartomizers. A standard low resistance, single coil, ce2 (i think that is what they are called) type cartomizer.

Compared to two years ago.... awesome! Varying the voltage on the battery (3 selections, can not remember the exact voltage ratings at the moment) did exactly what it should do, increased vapor and throat hit. If it was too strong, or burnt tasting, I backed down the voltage... and vice versa.

Some juices are best at low, some at medium, and others at high voltages. I am extremely pleased with the results of the VV Ego and cart set-up. As for the tank... unless you mod something, I would recommend steering clear. This is just my OPINION, and should be regarded as just that, an opinion.

Last I knew, there were only two carriers of the VV Ego, one was out of stock (madvapes?), the second was Vapor-age. I called Jonah, at Vapor-age, for assistance with the online order (the online system is a work in progress). He is very knowledgeable and great guy to talk to. Shipping was very fast (two days). His site is definitely worth checking out.

Update: There was user error on my part. My carts were missing the covers... hence my issues. I still prefer cartimizers over the tank immensely. But, atomizers with carts can serve as back-up in a pinch. Flavor and vapor still are not satisfactory for me with the stock tank on a type A atomizer. Type B any better?

Now, I have seven attys and 10 cartridges to trade and need assistance in finding a strong 36mg Menthol vape!

Awesome buy, VV vaping is the way to go for sure. If you enjoy the cartomizers check out the many tank systems that use them, I use a liquinator but there is a j-tank, lava tank, and a few others. They all work the same and pretty much look the same, it basically keeps the carto topped off and the flavor is perfect all day. When the carto gets old swap out with a new one, I have the same carto in for a week now. I find low resistance 2.0 Ohm carto's to work best in the range of voltage offered on that ego kit, higher Ohm carto's will need more voltage to produce strong hits. My 3.0 Ohm cartomizers don't do much below 4V but up around 5-6V they are great, so i would suggest you try lower resistance if you can only get 4.2V.

Finding menthol @ 36mg shouldn't be a problem at all, I suggest buying 36mg flavorless base and menthol drops. That way you get it just how you want it and can cut it down to whatever mg you want if you find 36mg too harsh. Lots of suppliers here have everything you would need.

Good luck and welcome back to vaping!

Did you look under the variable voltage ego tab? You can choose from 3 voltages wth this one ( GV eGo 650mah Variable Voltage 3Stage 510 Battery Kit STAINLESS [gv-egoVariableBATTERY-510KIT-STL] - $69.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more ) -3.2, 3.7, or 4.2. It comes in 650 or 900 mah, stainless or black with battery life display. I am using it right now. :)

do you have the 650 or the 900mah? how major is the size difference?

also do you have stainless or black?

I have one of each of the 650 and 900 mah vv ego batteries. I prefer the size of the 650, personally the 900 is a bit long and heavy for me but it will last all day and then some on 4.2. I think I'm going use my 900 as my in my purse back up and use the 650 most of the time :) I like stainless better because there is no paint to chip. The cone will not fit over the clearomizers. I know, they need a cone with a clearo sized hole. I'd totally buy one in a heartbeat. I think the big ones come with the kit and hold hold 1.8 mil and the small ones hold .9ish. I have had to adjust the battery connection to get the ego-t atty to run but all my cartos, clearos and everything else run fine with no adjustment necessary. I am actually really enjoying the clearomizers at 4.2, my honey hookah tastes very yummy. Let me know if you have any questions or I miss one along the way. :)

All set on the menthol. Bought some 100mg nic and made some menthol drops. I already had the vg and pg. I am looking at something like the provari... but 3 week wait time, Sheesh... not to mention the price!

I know you're all set up with menthol, but Mister E-Liquid menthol is ridiculous good. 32mg is the max you can order, but the full flavor custom blend is by far the best I've found. It's incredibly cold and doesn't have mint or peppermint type taste to it. Just pure menthol. I wanted the coldest possible menthol and he has it.
