What are the actual differences between the eGo A and B type systems? I have been using a 510 for a week, like it but am already tired of dripping. I'm not one to sit online reading a hundred posts so am also curious about leaking. Do the tank systems have to be stored/carried a certain way, say when driving, or even setting the thing on the counter?

I don't want some big humungous system.

I've already cut my cigarette smoking in half, want to go all the way but the 510 isn't going to do it if I have to constantly keep changing carts.

In my opinion and experience with the Joye eGo-t and eGo-c, you're best getting the eGo-c "upgrade" batteries and using Kanger bottom coil clearomizers. I prefer the Tabac BCC or Kanger T3 which is now the T3S unit. It is the same diameter as the eGo-c batts and not humungous :) They hold 3ml of ejuice. You can go smaller - 1.6ml with the eVod or better, imo, the 'Baby T3' which is now the Baby T3S. The coil replacement is much less than the eGo-c atty heads.... @$2.50 vs. @$5 each.

While I used the eGo-c system for about a year successfully, there was a lot of tricks and maintenance to keep them vaping well. The A-type is the tapered atty case - the tank holds about 1.6ml of ejuice. The 'type B' is the cylindrical case and the tank holds about 2.5ml.

The eGo-t system - you have to buy a whole new atomizer unit when the coil gives out - $10-12 vs. just buying the atty head for the eGo-c - @$5. But again, the ego-c upgrade batts paired with the Kanger clearos is the better way to go now.

1.8ohm coils best for stronger flavors:

2.2ohm best for lighter flavors:

You can get them at many vendors. cignot has been a good one for many here.

2nd one down is the 510. 3rd is a mini eGo with the baby T2. 4th is the eGo-c upgrade batt 650mAh with the T3. Others are the 900mAh and the Twists 650 and 900, all with T3's.

ego c and t batteries are the same.
the letter denotes the type(style?)tank that ego offers.

mike

The batteries are similar but not the same as noted in other posts.... the eGo-c has charge indicator and better short and charge protection and from that just a tad longer.

Went to my local shop here in town to see what he had and decided to buy. Got what is really a mixture, 2 Smok batteries, 2 EVOD tanks, bottom coil, and a wall charger and case. So far I like it a lot but the juice I picked up that I liked in my little 510 was much harsher/stronger in the EVOD. I had a lighter tasting juice as a sample from the same place, tried that and WOW, loved it in the EVOD. I'm going to get more of the "Cowboy Killer" juice, great taste for me.

Curious about atomizer resistances, I'm assuming mine came with a 2.2 but see they have 1.8 and 2.5 as well. What do the different resistances do?

Generally, stronger flavors do best with lower resistance - 1.8 ohm, and lighter flavors do better with higher - I use the 2.2 ohm for my light flavors as 2.6 is too high - not much flavor and less vapor - also depends on the battery voltage. I vape the eGo-c upgrade batts at the 'constant' mode - 3.4V. On occasion with stronger flavors I'll go to the 'unregulated mode' - 3.7V. Coffee flavors need higher wattage.

Some flavors just taste different at different wattages but still good - most 'RY4's' and menthols can span a range of wattage. Fruit and berry flavors will burn or wash out on high wattage, and some stronger flavors will be tasteless at low wattage - higher wattage enhances their flavor.

Wattage chart:

http://i.imgur.com/Ohn8o.png

Staying in the green (dark and light) and the purple depending on flavor is the general sweet spot. Less than that the vapor and flavor will suffer and more than that the coil and batteries will suffer. And light flavors :)

These are only for the Joyetech eGo's. (clones or knockoffs could have any, all or none of these features and Joyetech only makes the 650, 900 and 1000mAh batts. If it's 1100 or 1300 or 1500 - as of this date - it isn't a Joye batt):

eGo-t - it had better short and charge protection than earlier eGos. Earlier Joye eGos had none of these features.

eGo-c - it has better short and charge protection than the eGo-t. It has changing led for charge. It has a 5click on/off function.

eGo-t2 upgrade - it has the same short and charge protection as the eGo-t. It has two modes of operation - regulated at 3.4v constant (white led) and unregulated at 3.7V which goes through the normal 3.7V curve - @4.2V off the charger, 3.6-3.7V for most of the charge falling to 3.2V at the end. (orange led for that mode). The eGo-t2 upgrade has no changing led button regarding charge. It has a 5 click on/off feature.

eGo-c2 upgrade (aka eGo-c upgrade) - it has the top short and charge protection as the eGo-c, the two mode operation as above and a changing led button from white to light blue to dark blue as the charge runs out. It has the 5 click on/off feature. And it is a few mm longer than the others, likely from the added protection.

Joye eGo-c Twist has the same short and charge protection as the eGo-c and eGo-c upgrade batts. It has the 5 click on/off feature. No changing led for charge and runs from 3.2V to 4.8V variable by dialing it in with the bottom dial.

Joye eGo-t upgrade and eGo-c upgrade passthroughs - have the same features as the t or the c upgrade batts and have the ability when in the unregulated (orange led) mode and always hooked up, to vape at close to 4.0-4.1 Volts almost all the time - ymmv depending on regular vs. power vaping but when hooked up the battery keeps the charge at the top rather quickly. You can tell when you stop vaping how quickly the charging light on the batt goes off. Also has the 5 click on and off and the same protection as the letter indicates - "t" - good, "c" best.

Joyetech's statements:

The difference between Joyetech eGo-T 2 upgrade battery and Joyetech eGo-C 2 upgrade battery: eGo-C 2 battery has more intensified short circuit protection.

Also the T2 upgrade doesn't have the changing button led from white to blue as you lose charge. (and neither does the original eGo-t. )

Joyetech on the eGo-c (non-upgrade) batt:

"Special features of Joye eGo-C battery: The Joye eGo-C battery is a new power display battery.
The battery LED displays different colors when the battery power changes.
It has strengthened short circuit protection and over discharge protection based on eGo-T batteries
and there is a device inside to prevent overcharging."

So they are similar in form and most functions, but not all.

We've had one incident here of a true Joye eGo-t exploding and ruining a kitchen floor - no injuries. Joyetech found out about this through the customer and this forum and replaced the battery and fixed the customers floor.

We've had our techies attempt to blow up eGo-c batts in every extreme way possible and they were unable to do so. The battery just died. Once the short protection on the eGo-t is blown - there's a possibility that the next short may be a problem. Not so with the eGo-c - again, it just dies. I've never had a Joye eGo-c or eGo-c upgrade batt get hot or even warm during charging. ymmv. I still never leave any charging battery on overnight or when I am away.

i must have the 1000 mah then.
they both are branded egos.eco c upgrade, ego t upgrade.(not to confused with ego t with usb connection)
both green light for full battery, blue light for regulated 3.? volts.
red charging light at the pass-through connection.
i think its 5 button like blinks when charge is getting low.(20%?)
externally the both are the same in form and function.
any internal differences in short circuit or over charge handling is not evident externally
and i have not noticed any.
the last time i checked there was no difference in form or function.
the letter denotes a different style(type?)tank.joytechs site does not list an ego t upgrade
but got vapes has them.
ego t upgrade:Joyetech 1000mah eGo-T UPGRADE Battery ONLY - PURPLE [gv-joyetechEGOTBatteryONLY-PURPL] - $22.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

I don't have an eGo-t upgrade batt but according to heaven gifts, a true joye distributor, the ego-t2 upgrade shouldn't have the changing led button for losing charge. With the eGo-c2 upgrade (only says 'eGo-c upgrade' on the batt), its led button is white at full charge, aqua/light blue, blue then dark blue as the charge is used. Both should have the 'white' for regulated mode and orange for unregulated mode. In regulated mode (orange) the led button doesn't change as charge dissipates. And the eGo-c Twist remains white all the time.

my batts operate just like the description in the link i posted.
i may be wrong about how or if there is a low battery indication as i
top them off everyday.i may be confusing them with the two generic batts
i have.
here is a link to the best description i could find.
it does not make any reference to a low charge indication.

Good idea to top off frequently. Pretty sure though if you let the eGo-c upgrade batt go... it will go through the color sequence and I've never seen any 'blurb' on the eGo-t upgrade saying that. The led will turn blue when you go from unregulated to regulated mode but then pretty sure it stays white for the whole charge - that and the extra protection of the eGo-c upgrade is what is the difference between the two.

good info.
basically my intent was to say what works on a c will work on the t version circuitry features aside.
the c and t designation was originally to denote the type(style?) tank used.
the t lagged the c in added features probably to use up old inventory.
today c and t a identical in all features.joytechs website is out of date.

Understood skoony. It's just that in here, many are looking for the differences when shopping and I thought I'd write an overall info sheet for the Joye eGos as a starting point for those wondering. Admin wanted it as a sticky... I kept editing it - not to 'show you up' but only to give complete info. :toast:
