I have a newish Ego Twist less than a month and I do get some juice leaking onto the battery contact which I wipe off. I just noticed some shiny pieces now flaking off of the contact. Is this normal?

Yes the center part. It started out shiny chrome, started to tarnish a bit, and now is flaking. Probably isn't too much of an issue but It figures I may be overtightening.
That's never happened to any of my Twists or eGo's. I see slight scratch like marks on those surfaces, that's all. I tighten very gently. Over tightening can lead to that center pin being pushed down too far and then you have to pull it out a bit.
