Welcome to ECF , As long as the Twist is working for you , might as well stick with it awhile . At least your getting the benefit of varable voltage . Now there are several varable voltage , and wattage type mods out there , thare are fairly cheap , as APV prices go . There's The Vamo , or varable voltage and wattage Eg0 , that uses an 18650 battery . The big benefit to these , is a lot longer battery life . There's also the Evic , Vmax and Zmax , etc . And if money is not an issue , you can pick up a Provari . Very well made and dependable . Varable voltage only , but I find that I rarely use wattage , over voltage , but that may be just me . Good luck in your search .

It depends on where you want to go with this - and when.

You are already getting a VV experience with the twist. Aside from adding bells and whistles from getting a new PV, that experience won't change a ton. It will be fancier, but largely VV is VV for you at this stage.

One up-side to getting a mod when you decide to do it is: replaceable batteries. Which will save some money in there. Somewhere. Depending on how much you blow on the mod. Maybe. lol Seriously, that's the long term problem with a twist - once the battery is depleted you have to throw the entire thing away. If you like the advantage VV is giving you with a Twist then, sure, a mode makes sense. The question you might ask yourself is when to do it?

If the twist is working for you stick with it, I got a couple twists and the bug bit me... I got a VAMO, a Zmax and now I'm looking at the Provari... I must say though that I am a gadget freak. I like the mods because they are bigger and have a better life span ( batteries )... Unlike the other poster I prefer the vow over vv.

Congrats with the twist working out for you. I'd say that since they are working for you to save up for something nicer like the provari. I think the Vamo, Evic, VMax, and ZMax have their place but I think you might be dissapointed with the build quality. You have a solid piece of hardware in the twist. If you're going to get excited about a new mod why not make it one that's not going to fall a part on you. Just my two cents.

I'm also a new vaper with a twist. I'm sure I'll move up eventually, but I feel like I'm still learning a lot about what I like and what I don't like about vaping. Sticking with the twist for now lets me figure out what I want to vape and what the benefits are of different tanks, atomizers, cartomizers, etc.

When my twists die, though, I think I'll replace them with something fancier. I'd rather wait until then and get something really nice than trade up to (what seems to me like) a mid-level experience with the Vamo—which I might not even appreciate at the moment.

If you have found that you like variable voltage I would save up for a Provari if you think you will like it. I have a twist and a Provari. I know my Provari will see me threw anything. It already has.

Thought it would be nice to get straight to a starter VV in ego twist. Been reading on the reviews and watching videos on the advanced mod, Provari is known for the reliability but could the Smoktech V or Zmax challenge it?

i own a zmax and provari...both good units to be honest...i find myself going for my zmax more then my provari....if i had to do it all over again id just get the zmax..its cheaper, solid unit i think ive dropped mine 324567394857 times and its still a champ...provari is usa made,99% of the forum members love the device,I like my provari....but dont love it....either is a good mod
the only reason i got a mod over a ego, battery life....and you can pop a battery out and throw a fresh one in

You are one of the lucky ones. I received 2 of them I was getting for a good friend and both had screens that were falling into the inside of the device. Not to mention that it will regulate your voltage down if you try too high of a voltage for the carto or atomizer you are using. A new vaper could assume they are really getting 4.8v when you might be gettin 4v. The unit never tells you this, so the user never knows. Yes it's a safety feature, but it can be confusing. At least the provari gives you an E1 error letting you know your voltage is to high. This way a new vaper can learn what a maximum voltage is for a specific atomizer. With the Zmax you'll never learn. Not to mention the aesthetics of the provari are far superior to the Zmax. To each their own I guess but I'd rather pay a little more and get a rock solid device with a 1yr. warrantee than a cookie cutter knockoff where you have to take a gamble if it will even work out of the box. Lol

Howdy!!

I have an ego twist, a kgo vv passthrough and a shiny chrome young june lavatube (I love saying 'shiny chrome young june lavatube'). I loved my twist except that I had a hard time reading the numbers on the twist (old age is a b@#ch) so I got the kgo which had an led screen which was a lot easier to read. That worked great for awhile but w/no way to check the resistance of my clearos I needed something w/an ohm checker so I got a shiny chrome young june lavatube (I told you I love saying that). I still use both my twist and the kgo at home but usually use my shiny chrome young june lavatube when I'm out and about. I love my twist and still use it and the only reason I upgraded was because I needed an ohm checker.
