I like it Jens. Question, what is the white stuff you are using in the atomizer base to hold/seal it up? Is that some sort of teflon, silicon, or epoxy? I want to make one in black to go with my black egos.
the white stuff is called for stewalin. save for use :p
i love these guys, ordered 150 ego-w to build some more :p

Thanks Jensb! I remember that stuff from another thread, and if I remember right, is unavailable in the USA. Ashame... wonder if I can find in Germany and have it shipped?

ETA: Feel free to build me one ;)

Actually, I just built one and used my A-2 base instead and using it in normal eGo-TM mode vice genisis. The full threading from an eGo cone replaced the lower chamber threading and will grip/thread onto the A-2 base. It works OK. I had built something similar a few weeks back, but wanted to just build the eGo-T with piercing needle as a backup cause I use my A-2TM daily.

I first used my very old box of Stewalin white ceramic plaster, and altough more than 10 years on the shelf, it worked like a new box from the shop. This material is a plastic enhanced plaster with a working time of around 10 minutes, curing in about half an hour and going rock hard when fully dried. It needs about two days to be fully dry and "tings" when you knock against it, quite like ceramics. It's fully sandable, you can easily saw it and it's glued with pva-glue. Five kilos go for 17,- Euro, so it's a bit more pricey than dental plaster, but I like it's qualities and easy handling.

Copied this from a UK site. It is mixed 4 to 1 with water. From reading this it has been on the market a while.

From UKVapers: You can use Stewalin. Is safe food and termoresistant.

damn Kar,you are one opinionated ....,lol! ive heard about people using this stewalin for a while now,and havent heard ANY bad things yet,i am neither condoning or objecting to the use of it,but i can say there are a couple highly respected modders that use it. these are the same people that are the reason me and you are using genesis type attys now.

Most problems take more than a year to manifest.

In this country there are a number of 'food safe' categories and approval agencies. To be truly food safe is more than just the materials, the manufacturing facility itself needs to be inspected and approved.

Some have called JB Weld food safe, does it make sense that an industrial 'cold weld' product aimed for automotive use would be made in a pristine and inspected facility? The same can be said for Stewalin, a product made for the hobby trade.

Hello,
looking for something in google I saw thre photos of this mod. Nice to see that german ERF mods are getting international.

I did this mod originally with plugs of different heights and a needle to stabilsize the ESS. Socket is made of stewalin...best modding material ERF ever found.:D

...ESS and now make some turns and attach the long plug

Still love my mini genisis...it is working fine since october last year:)

well i use distance bolts(right word?) in stainless steel. they are about 2cm long and can be cutted in length.

Had some time and made another one. this one is even better :)

Awesome Jensb. I'm starting my own build after reading through this thread. I have one question - how do you use only 2 shells on the silver colored atty? I'm guessing you just shove the threaded section from the eGo-W down the tube and then put the little tube for the tank on that but if you have a smarter method please share :)

Can someone show how the wires actually attach to the atty.I guess meaning showing the whole process from start to finish.I would like to get my brother to build me a few I just need pictures of the entire process. Thanks to anyone willing to do this.

Cut your center post and solder one contact there. Second contact goes on the side. Put outer collar on the base then fill the base.

This pic just shows the two contacts with leads going out, but should give you the idea.

Hi Teach thanks for the picture. As for filling the base what would he use to fill it with epoxy or something like that. Also which wire would be the longest of the two to when he goes to wrap the ss mesh?Sorry for all the noob questions but asking is learning lol.

I believe Jensb was using stewlawin which isn't available in the US. Someone has been experimenting with Permastone and others with food safe silicone molding putty. I've got some of both, but I haven't been back in the shop for 3 months so it's waiting on me.

Permastone would give a solid rigid base, but appears to be juice sensitive. Silicone is good in the juice, but isn't as rigid. I want to try putting some permastone about 3/4 of the way up the base, then cap it with FDA silicone adhesive or food safe silicone putty. That combination should lock in the connectors and isolate the permastone. I'm guessing cure time of 48+ hours for the Permastone, then another 48+ for the silicone adhesive... definitly don't want to get that aroma in your juice.

Glad to help!
