Somebody gave nee a ego T passthrough with just the USB cable to charge it. I can't get it to charge (it worked intermittently for like an hour). I'm gotten to one PV because I broke my VV Gripper (which I'll have back soon) and today broke my lavatube, so I'm down to my iTaste. Sooo, is it the cable or is there issues with these charging (I don't know the mah on it)? What's your thoughts poopies?

I've tried a 5 volt and a 5.7 volt chargers...I don't know the ohm's, and I'm terrible at figuring that out. What I don't get is it was charging in the car and at home, just not consistently. When I got home I had it charging and moved it and now it won't charge anymore. I know it's not charged because when I got home the light on the bottom was red. This is an eGo T passthrough upgrade, one of the ones you can change the voltage on (which I didn't know until tonight, so I'm super bummed)....

A lot of the PTs need a 2.0 amp wall adapter, if it's less they won't work properly. You said it worked in the car, were you vaping it while it was plugged in? If you were, I'm guessing that the car adapter is the right amp. and vaping while plugged in prevented it from getting a full charge. Are you following my line of reasoning here? Trying to clarify..............if you were vaping in the car, it was charging on one end (at the adapter) while discharging from the other end (because you were vaping) hence it wouldn't achieve a full charge.

Sorry, didn't mean ohms, meant amps or mah. My fool dog was barking his head off at me to go out and it's the wee hours of the morning here. Didn't want him waking everyone up.

I had it working in the car then not working in the car, I could tell it wasn't very charged while it was working, the light on the bottom was so dim I had to cup my hands in the dark car to see it. My chargers don't tell me the amp, or mah, just the volts which I'm not smart enough to compute, especially at this time of night lol....do you think the chargers are too much amperage to charge it, or not enough? I noticed the little part of the USB
is bigger than ones for my phone or my tablet...maybe it needs more power. I see a 2.0 and 3.0 USB cable for sale on Amazon..I just don't know which one this PV needs....I'm going to bed now, hopefully this thread blows up and I get an answer. I can't figure out why it's not working on my PC....thanks for the help Yiddle;):D I really appreciate it!

You don't need a 3.0 cable. Can you try another usb cable to rule out the first one isn't shorted or broke. If not wiggle the cable around when charging to see if maybe there is a bad spot in the usb cable or plug somewhere.

Here are the types of usb ends and there names.

You have to worry that the AC adapters provide enough amps, never worry that they provide too many amps as the charger only draws what it needs. I'm assuming you can charge the device on a lower than 2A adapter but you can't vape and charge at the same time.

After numerous experiments with USB cables I've realized that the problem lies with the PV. The passthrough part is broken, the pins on the inside must be jacked. I am having no problem charing it through an old ego charger, that you screw on your 510 connection.
So it'll work, just not as a passthrough:( ,oh well, I can live with that!

Did the person that gave you the device have any issues with it?

If it charges on the ego connector, it does sound like the usb port may be bad.

Also, keep in mind that the volts/amps when connected directly to a computer will be much less than when attached to a wall outlet/car adapter, so charge times will be significantly longer, but it sounds like it doesn't work on the car/wall adapter either...
