Ehpro Squape R clone metalic taste.

Hello i just bought the EHpro Squape R clone and it's grate, no leaks, seems easy to rebuild. But i get this metalic taste that i can't get rid of. I use a torch to burn the kantal before making the coil, still get metalic taste, then i thought if it could be some kind of industrial residue, so i just have damp all the metal pieces into vodka... so i could clean them up. Any thoughts?

That's probably a good start but you might not wanna leave any o rings in that vodka for too long since it could eat the rubber, afterwards you might try boiling them for awhile as well. The machine oil is infamous for being resilient as all hell and if there's even a tiny amount in there you will taste it but if you do all that a few times I think it'd work. Get the post screws out too and everything it seems absurd but thats how tenacious you gotta be about it.

Thank you, after the 12 hour vodka bath, i'll clean them in a anti-oil soup bath(like the soup for cleaning dishes), then rinse with natural water, then boil them for 1 hour.

Most of the time, a 2 hour alcohol soak and hot water rinse takes care of it for me. Only once have I had to boil one and that one was so bad it was caked in black crud.
