Hi scabatdan,

you may have covered this calculation, but I haven't seen it. I just ordered 166 ml. of 300 mg. nic liquid. this obviously is not a 1mg, to 1 ml. ratio, so is there a way to mix this stuff using your calculator?

Thanks in advance. p.s. I got this to raise nic levels in other mixes and recipes ala scratch. feel free to p.m me with this , or post it.

thanks again.

Well I do not want to know where you 300mg nic from, and do not want to know, I would highly suggest diluting it dow to 100mg for safer handling. But the calculator does not care if you have 50mg or 999mg nic juice. Just put the 300 in section 1 first field and target nic in section 1, 2nd field, and how much to make. It will tell you in section 2 how much of each to add. Please do not post any links of where to get 300mg from, most users are happy 50-100mg we do not need a rash of 300mg user running around.
Attached is a pic of the calc working.
Dan

Sugar will caramelize then taste burnt. Generally you don't want to vape anything you might find in your fridge. For flavoring, you only want natural/artificial flavors in alcohol/water/pg/vg. vaping is like putting your liquid in a frying pan without oil and burning it up. Anything that will sit in the pan and blacken and burn is not good.

I was using a different calculator. I'm waiting for this one to download.

Since you mention it having a column for water would simple regular juices work, like the Capri Sun type of juice as a replacement for water for flavoring? I tried this in a really crappy cart I got screwed on off-line that holds very little e-juice and not sure if it's the cart or that juice flavor is generally not condensed enough to mix with no-flavor/mixers and 1 part light tobacco flavor just to give it a kick. It burnt up faster than water with only the first vape having any taste. Got the burnt taste by the 3rd vape. YUCK!

I won't be trying that one again. ...or can it somehow work... (The result would be similar to an e-hookah taste - stronger on vapes and light on flavor which would be awesome to be a DIY! - btw, using ECOPure on the other two parts - 1 mixer and 1 light tobacco (RICH - which makes A LOT of vapes)

(will let you know how your calculator works out next time I mix - thanks)

Thanks so much for this excellent calculator Scubabatdan this will come in handy for kicking up some of my batches a couple of notches without poisoning myself. I have always meant to download The O-Office and your calculator gave me the push I needed. Everything looks great and I can't wait to play with it more tomorrow.

I use PG and VG mixes, but never put VG or Water entrys in Dan's spreadsheet.

First I take my VG & thin it to how I like it.

Next I make 3 bottles up. One with 90/10 PG/VG, one with 70/30 PG/VG, and another at 60/40. I use the mix out of these bottles as my "PG"

For a hint of VG, I use the first. For close to 20% VG the second and for close to 30% VG the third.

The exact ratio of PG to VG just has not been that critical in my recipes. VG adds some sweetness and vapor production and can help meld some flavors. But being off 5% is just not a big deal so I don't worry about it.

So, while my recipe uses VG, I never enter anything about it. I make a note of what mix I used to get the best effect/flavor in the notes section along with the flavor % and save it off.

Hopefully this could work for one other person out there.

I just finished reading this whole thread and Hoosier is the only person that I saw that does the same thing as I do. It just made sense for me to go ahead and mix up my VG/PG/ Vodka solutions the way I want them in separate containers and then calculate my flavoring and DIY nic for my recipes, seems a lot easier for me.

Ok, I have been asked repeatedly to add a donation link to the calculator. I have added one on the bottom of the instruction page. This is not mandatory and I am not asking for donations, if you feel the need to be generous then you have an outlet :) I require no one to pay for this, if you are a donate-a-holic then feel free to use my link.
Enjoy…

I'm so glad that I had subscribed to this thread scubabatdan. I already had v13. and just last night I was talking to my wife about how you had not yet put the donate button on. We were talking about sending you some ejuice or something. And lo and behold today it appeared in my email.

Being good to my word, I am happy to be one to start the hat passing. It's not much, but hopefully many more will be appreciative of all your hard work and thought that went into keeping diy'ers safer.

thanks

Wow , this seemed to stop this thread dead in it's tracks. he did say that it's not mandatory, he's not asking for donations, and he requires "no one to pay for this".

How many people are using the juice calculator for their everyday liquid mixing? calculate(no pun intended) how much money you're saving on diy, and then see if it's more than a buck. If it is, and I'm betting it is, then what the heck is a buck worth these days. Takes a couple of seconds to go through paypal, and a dollar for each person that is using these life saving, juice making calculator still wouldn't even come close to what this guys worth is for taking all of your suggestions and putting them to use for you.

I'm not trying to guilt anyone into this. I'm just saying that all of the questions and suggestions stopped cold.

Oh well Scubabatdan probably needed a break anyway. Just my .02 cents, had to get it off of my chest.

LOL Switched is right, when I don't get any suggestions or bug error then all is quiet. When there is a problem I hear it in this thread and in PM's LOL.
No problem I usually check in once a day for new post.
Thanks for the donation reverndg, I do appreciate it!
Well I will continue to monitor, I suppose no news is good news LOL

Hello Scuba
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around your calc. Maybe u can steer me in the right direction.
I enter my starting nic, then the nic lvl to end with. Next qty to make 0 water 20% vg 15% flavor. Now in section 2 My nic lvl is ok but in pg no nic it has a % and i don't think it should i put 0 dropper count but it still puts in a %. In the water i put 0 and there is 0%. So my question is why is it showing 31% in pg no nic when i not using it . I think that its giving me a wrong mix. thanks for your help in advanced Namle

The Drop = 1ml only affect the drops field, it does not affect the ml or % fields.

What are the numbers you are using?

Nic:
Target Nic:
Amount to make:
Water: 0
VG: 20%
Flavor: 15%

If you do not want to use PG then you must increase the VG to make up the differance. If you only want to use VG then use the VG calculator page.
If you use the PG calculator page, it will assume you want the no nic differance to be PG.

i.e.
Nic: 100mg
Target Nic: 24mg
Amount to make: 50ml
Water: 0
VG: 20%
Flavor: 15%

Section 2 results are:
PG with nicotine: 12.00
PG (no nicotine): 20.50
Water/Vodka/PGA Based on VG: 0.00
VG: 10.00
Flavoring(s): 7.50

Now it assumes I want to add PG since I am using the PG calculator, a way to get around this is to add the % of PG to the VG in section 1, So if I added 41% (20.5ml) to the VG in section 1 (20%), VG would equal 61% then the PG no nic will go to zero and the VG will increase to 28ml.

If you do not want to add no nic PG then use the VG calculator.

This help or confuse :)

well thank you for such a quick reply. I am using 60mg pg nic cutting it with vg and flavoring. so the way you explained it I add the pg no nic to the vg to get my total vg that I add. what is the normal % used in cutting it down? I was told 20% is this correct? Oh ya I'm cutting it down to 18mg.
Thanks again for your help Namle
Would not of done it with out this calc great work my friend:toast:

Yes, the typical I have seen is 20VG/80PG soooo... if you want to stick with that, then you would need to add PG. Otherwise 55% of your mix would be VG, and it will affect your flavoring and increase the sweetness of the mix.

Well, I for one am grateful for your efforts, I just wish I could read the file. I don't have Excel on my computer and it won't open the file, unfortunately. I used to have it, but somehow it got erased or expired with Microsoft Office or something like that, you know that pre-loaded stuff when you buy a bundle computer?

Anyway, I think adding a donation button is a fantastic idea. If you feel funny about adding it, you could even donate it to your favorite charity or something, not suggesting that you don't deserve to keep it either! It costs money to run internet service, hosting, buy programs, etc. I understand completely, and that's why I feel better donating to someone who has helped me out. But I know the feeling too when you don't want to take someone's donation, and I myself have donated juices, etc., to people and they insisted on paying for postage, but I asked them to donate to one of my favorite animal rescue charities.

Enough rambling. Any chance this will ever be available in a PDF format or something like that? LOL. I too have trouble with the calculations. Using calculators for too many years has "weakened" my brain function. Along with all that tobacco damage. I personally have some favorite flavors in zero nic and in 36, and have VG and PG nic, and both without. So I have all this diy stuff, and can't figure out the best formulations! I don't like the taste of adding vodka. Tried that, but maybe I just added too much...LOL.

If you dont have MS office i.e. Excel, you can download Open Office at OpenOffice - The Simplest All-In-One Office Suite for free. It will open the calculator v 13.
Yeah what magus said :)
