And the avalanche begins...:facepalm: :lol::lol::lol::lol:
My recoils could not possibly compare to your quality of workmanship!
You two duke it out, and may the best "man" win. Personally, I don't care - I can mail dirty coils anywhere in the country. I know me, I have seen me do it.
And I WILL be mailing some to SOMEBODY, but these little buggers last forever, I tell ya.
Speaking of RECOILING - was I dreaming or did I hear that the new 1.2 coil exteriors are harder to take apart to rebuild when it comes time? And if so, should I be buying up the 1.5s? Are they being phased out? Inquiring minds need to know these things. I don't think of it til I am half asleep and then by the time I get here again, I forget to ask! My "inner Britney" takes over for some reason ...

Nanny, you know I'll rebuild yours anytime you need em! I've never rebuilt a 1.2 though. Those are vertical and I've never built a vertical coil.
I've been having problems with my rebuilds lately to the point that I think I need to rip them out and start all over. I put a new rebuilt coil in this morning. Registered as 1.4 on an istick 30W. I was tootling along at 12W...all of a sudden the juice starts to taste funny, off but not burnt. Looked at the ohms and they are 2.0. Turned the watts down to 10. An hour later, the ohms are at 2.4 so I had to turn the watts down to 8 to keep the same flavor. Ok all you GS Air gurus....what's going on?

Loose coil lead in the atomizer, maybe?

That is correct. The 1.2 coils are different. The top cap pops in and out of the outer wall and there's no dual chamber anymore. They also don't lend themselves particularly well to horizontal builds, though I suppose it's doable. They DO make vertical builds tons easier, though.

Darn, OK -- so have you heard anything about the 1.5s being phased out soon, Cloudmann?

Well..the coil was loose in the base and I cleaned the 510 connection but still reading 2.4. And this happened with several more coil heads. I think next weekend I'm going to just tear them down and rerebuild them all.
Likely what Cloudmann said then, might try pulling the pin and drying it would be all I know.

Nope. All of the new packages have the checkboxes for the 1.5 coils still printed on them... I'd imagine they're sticking around... for a while, anyhow.

Yep. At this point, that's probably easiest. Check the insulating o ring between the positive lead and the chassis and make sure it's not cracked or whatever.
