Now if I could just find a way to reliably re-install the manhole covers on the TC and 1.2 ohm coils I'd be good, though I have to say the TC coils are coming to be my preferred rebuilds, since I can rebuild them any way I want, with any wire and to any resistance, I also get the ability to re-wick them without having to disassemble them, just pull out the old wick and insert a new one through the TWO juice hole, The four juice holes on the 1.5 ohm coil mean you have to have the mesh in the outer can, and the outer can has to be removed to re-wick! I don't think I'm going to be able to rebuild the 1.2's even if I can get the manhole cover back on since there is no way to position a horizontal coil that already has the wick in place if the mesh is already installed, and even if you put it in last, which might be a bear to do, you'd have to use a fine needle through the cotton to get the coil in position before putting in the insulator and pin and clipping the wires! Too much trouble! I'll save the Silicon insulators, the top seals, o-rings and positive pins for spare and the empty hulls are going to get trashed!

That 's exactly what I do with the manhole cover coils I have. Tried all kinds of techniques to rebuild the vertical
coil. I felt that for the trouble it wasn't worth the effort. I like rewicking if the coil is fine and now with mesh, no
gauze to mess with when reassembling. The manhole cover is a pain to consistently reinstall, some go smooth and
some are as stubborn as a mule! Just not worth it to me.
Poop head vertical coils!

The 400 will work fine on your mix. Two key things with any mesh is to make sure the wicks extend enough to contact
the mesh well and line two of the cap holes up with your wicks. I even fluff the wicks a bit prior to installing the mesh caps.

Cheechako, How in the heck do you get the outer can seated without destroying the Silicon insulator? I just trashed a 1.5 ohm coil trying to rebuild it, after I forgot to watch my juice level and burned the cotton wick. Yech that is a nasty taste, and yes the Sweet Vapes 1.5 coils are the dual coil horizontal one!

Use these long enough and you'll wear out the brass 510 threads on them. Then, use the dead thread base, screw the rebuilt coil in with the shroud in place and use regular pliers on the very top of the rebuilt and under the bottom of the dead GS Air base to squeeze the two together. No damage to the sillycone.

I screw a dead coil into a tank base, that on an Evod stick so I can hold it securely and use needlenose pliers at the very top of the coil shroud to get it off. I've found a back and forth wiggle gets it off the quickest. Sometimes the pliers slip off and it takes a couple tries.

Some may recall I was having some not quite all the way dry hit issues with new rebuilts awhile back.

I figured that one out.

If you are wrapping, be sure and not have Any wrap Above the top of the coil base when you slip the shroud back on like I did from time to time, then, the shroud will push the excess wrap if not over the shroud air hole but enough to stop a good flow of juice. It will work ok once the coil gets saturated but the coil may not be saturated all the way, pre-firing, like juice coming through the wrap/slits would indicate. Be sure the wrap isn't any higher than the top of the coil base. (Hoping this make sense.)

I don't mind wrapping. I did bookmark Cheech's blog on it and the Ebay listing he posted but I'll wrap for now.

I am using the same 12 coils I bought within the past year. I think I've killed an insulator or two though. The only reason I haven't bought the bag-o-insulators is I could use another 10-15 coils first.

Do I need a bag-o-insulators?
In my opinion, no. A recoil will last for at least a couple of weeks. You can then imagine if you rebuild just a few, you have coils for a couple of months.
I bought spares for the parts that I thought would wear out, grommets and o rings. Haven't had to use them.

I bought them, and now that I've had some advice from here, I probably won't need them! Won't be rebuilding any coil till I burn through the 20 new 1.2 and 1.5 ones, 10 each, I just got. right now trying out 5 new DIY flavors from Nude Nicotine! So far Coffe Cream and Peaches and Cream are real good and the strawberry raspberry rhubarb pie filling is OK, but not great, got the Apple pie ala Mode and Banana Cream Pie to try yet! Did them all at 5% flavor and 3% Nicotine in max VG juice! Clouds and Flavor in my GS-Tank with 1.2 ohm coil at 14 Watts.

Do the Kanger grommets work in the GS air coils?

There are probably people here with More attys than my 4 Airs and Way more coils than my 10 for the last year.

I would say I have 3-4 coils whos insulators are burned in enough places to warrant replacing.

Those come in packs of 50 for around $9, anyone want to sell me 10 of them?

Good Morning Air Heads!

The listing where Cheech and I got them is sold out. Here's another one you might want to try.
