Looks like a Seal Mink. Is it? They have the most beautiful aqua green eyes.
That one is a Seal Lynxpoint. They have blue eyes. The Seal Mink is a different kind of Snow Bengal, but I believe you are right about their eyes. There are several different types of Snow Bengals.

BDC...vs...BVC

Night and Day

When I got my first couple Nauty's they came with BDC's. After I scored some BVC's...I threw the BDC's out!!!

My concern with the BVCs is what is inside. I believe I have read they have fiberglass filler (I think Katya can confirm).
Doesn't matter anyway, because Aspire is discontinuing the BDCs and I won't be using the BVCs.

Thanks!! I couldnt tell from the picture if the eyes were blue or green ;) My parents have the Seal Lynx Point but he is marbled and much more reduced in pattern. I personally love the distinct spotted patterns like the one you showed. Beautiful!!!

It's a lot easier than I thought. After looking at Cheechako's rebuild pictures, I decided to pull off the top of one of my old coils and try to clean it and dry burn it. I was really surprised at how easy it is to get that pressed on piece off the coil. I did what Cheechako did - I screwed the coil into an old T3S base and then just gently twisted it with needle nose pliers. It came off easily. Once it's off, it looks really similar to old coils you can clean and dry burn. So I boiled it in the microwave for a few minutes, dry burned it, and now it's vaping like new again.

The most difficult part (and it's not that difficult) is twisting that top off. But if you screw the coil into a base, it makes it a little easier to do.

I am so glad it has been confirmed, i thought someone would try it and ruin a coil then call me everything but a child of God!
I think your way of cleaning and dry burning may be the easiest, the one I took apart that I had tried to dry burn without
any fluid looked terrible inside. I am gonna try this method if I ever get around to using a new coil...

Yeah, I was really gentle with twisting off that top. That's where I thought I could get into trouble, but was pleasantly surprised when it came right off. Mine looked pretty decent inside or I would have tried to do your rebuild. But I'm really glad to find out that it is possible to rebuild them as well. How would you compare the vape of your rebuild with the stock coil?

With the rebuilt coils and the new "material" it seems to be able to keep up with wicking at higher temps, I couldn't go over
6 watts on the stock coils.
I have not been able to locate the packaging for the squares in order to define what they are. I did light one on fire in order to determine if
it melted or burned up into ash which would indicate cotton or rayon base. It burned quickly and only left a little gray ash.
Were you able to replace the original material when you put it back together?
That was the difficulty when I originaly took one apart...

At some time you will have a coil you feel cannot be resurrected by cleaning or dry burning. Then you'll be
ready to tear it apart! The trick is to hold the coil in some kind of base to give you something to hold onto.
Hopefully someone will be along to tell us what this material is that I'm using or will test a rebuild by using
the ply of a japanese cotton pad.

I have been able to go as high as 10 watts with my ADV, but it is an 80/20 PG/VG mix. I think I recall you saying you were using an all VG juice.

Oh no. I meant trying just the dry burn. I don't think I am ever going to try a rebuild. Even with you pictures and instructions I was, well... Lost.

I was refering to the dry burn technique also. It is very hard to dry burn a coil you cannot see.
Some day you'll throw your hat over the fence when it comes to rebuilding coils...

(Health Cabin has Boge cartos for $4.50 a box and 8% off for their Spring break. I ordered 55 boxes this morning. 40 with 2 laser holes and 15 slotted. ;))

Just wondering about your 40:15 ratio...

Do you have some CartoTanks that the 2-holes work best in and other CartoTanks where the slotted work best?

Or do some juices work "best" with either the 2-hole or slotted?

(Or...do you just like to replace your cartos in a ...2-hole, 2-hole, slotted...rotation?)

They are Aspire VNs with BDCs. But I can't use them on my iStick, even at the lowest setting, without all my juices tasting burnt, with the exception of Cappuccino for some reason.

You might want to try some "Aspire NON-Nautilus BVC's".

The BVC's "like" higher Wattage settings than the BDC's (and, I've found, give better taste and TH---with more vapor--than the BDC's).

I've read several times that the BVCs have fiberglass filler in them, which is why I don't want to use them.

Confirmed.

They are slowly transitioning to cotton, but ATM, I've only seen Atlantis coils with 100% cotton wicks. Nobody knows when other BVC coils will be changed. No official statements from Aspire yet.

Especially with dual coil configuration. Even if you manage to open up the coil head, usually only the top coil is visible, so you can't really monitor the bottom coil.

I think that's why I was a little driven to figure out how to rebuild these coils. the last dual coils I tried were the iclear line and it
was hit or miss on wether or not both coils fired new out of the box. I really liked these tanks from the get go and knew it would be difficult
to clean them for reuse and being a cheap guy...
