Sorry. Just edited the last post as you were replying, apparently. Basically, those little coils and the thin kanthal in them have more of a perpensity to change resistance over time because the wire is so thin. Also, after a while, the resistance in one coil is likely to change more rapidly than the other and that throws the overall resistance for a loop. And if one fails, you have a single 3.0 ohm coil.

I had the experience of one of the coils failing and ending up with a 3 ohm coil. But guess what? The flavor improved immensely and I kept vaping on it for over a week. At the very same wattage.
What gauge is the wire in the verticals? Never saw one. But I can assure you that if you as much as singe your cotton that is wrapped tightly around that hot coil, your atty is toast--no pun intended.
And that is Why I was kinda Curious about the Dry Burning.
Because (on average) many of the people I see someone using a Head type Tank are doing so because they Don't want to Rebuild things. They want the Convenience of using a Head until it doesn't Taste Good, and then Plugging in a New Head to get back to Vaping.
I've tried both the Silica and the Organic Cotton wick heads. I Didn't see a Huge Difference in Taste/Vapor for the e-Liquids/Wattages that I used in them.
So if someone came to me and Asked which one should they Get? And they Told me that they Didn't have a Desire to rebuild them. I would Probably Recommend the Silica Wick Heads. Because they would have the Option to Dry Burn them if they Wanted to Try It.
Me too. Never had a lot of luck dry burning coils, regardless of wick material. The burnt off crap has nowhere to go except into the wick. Rebuilding usually turns out to be easier in the long run and generally produces better-than-factory results.I did extensive attempts to dry burn Air dual coils prior to rebuilding with varied success...
If I dry burned and then flushed the coil with water down the chimney with a syringe, then dry burned again.
I would get almost acceptable results.
Upon removing the cap and examining the liner and coil, gave it up as a lost cause and figured out
how to rebuild...
Removal of the cap and liner may facilitate dry burning as an alternative, but going down that path I decided
rebuilding was the better choice.

You need to rinse off the ash after you dry burn.

Yeah... I'm a Veteran of the CE2's days. And have tried Many Different Dry Burning techniques on them.
I found that a Good Flush using Hot Tap Water and then a Shake/Blow/Fan Dry followed by a Dry Burn worked about the Best also.

Yep... This is a Step that Many People Overlook.
Right, and if you have set your mod to watts, the voltage will jump, the remaining coil will gunk up quickly, and the infamous "no atomiser" display will appear, as if by magic!
They don't have any--sometimes that have sales, but not very often. But their prices are fair and they are a good vendor.
The Air, M, MS, and GS tank take the same coils.
Have had some juice coupons from S-V, but nothing for hardware in a loooooong time.
Same coils work in all four GS clearos.
