I use NET and it is rather mild in flavor, certainly not a flavor to overpower, but I get a "sock in the mouth" taste. Even a new Nauty BVC has an off flavor but settles in after a few hits. This cotton wick stuff appears to have this trait. I will give it awhile to see if it too settles in.:nun:
It's been a while since I've used cotton. I wick with rayon and don't get an off flavor. Could be that particular cotton or like you say, it needs time to saturate fully.

Used the coil in the tank, used on a my SVD 2 and got a "shorted " readout, put the tank on my Disrupter and it worked but the flavor was horrible, not in a dry burn way just nothing I ever tasted before. So I changed the coil, all systems go on both devices but the flavor is still off....I need some time to get the power at peak and the AFC set I think. Thnx!:)
I followed the advice of wiser folks here, and started—after burning a wick—by dumping the juice, cleaning and drying the tank, refilling, putting two drops of juice into the top of the new coil, waiting a few minutes (the hardest thing for me)...
and then vaping at about 7 watts, gradually upping the wattage until I found my sweet spot.

Or someone on the assembly line ran out of wick and decided to use a portion of his/her sock. I actually can see that happening.

Oh I agree, I never try to salvage a burnt coil...This was not a burnt coil, more of a dirty sock coil...the 1.5 coil. I have the 1.2 in now and it is coming along gradually.

1.5 coils do taste a little different than the 1.2 coils. That is due to dual horizontal (1.5) and single vertical (1.2) in the newer coils along with cotton wicking. I like the flavor better from the newer coils.
Staying on topic, I am? LOL

A whole lot different IMO. The new coil (1.2) is coming along nicely after some breaking in time.
