Many long debates. ;) Usually a combination of high heat (or not enough heat ) and all kinds of additives that end up as gunk on the coils. That's why I dry burn or rebuild often. Dirty coils are a bad thing.

One of the interesting questions (perhaps) is what makes a coloured e-liquid bleach in strong sunlight. I've taken raspberry e-liquid (pink) on hols to hot places and within two days it is perfectly clear.

Must be some added pink food coloring. ;) Never had this happen to me. Most e-juices usually darken as nicotine oxidizes due to prolonged exposure to light, oxygen, and/or heat.

Yes - that's what can happen in a tank when we heat it. I suppose my question is about the effect of strong sunlight.

How are we feeling about coffee filters? Just a thought.

Okay, I had to try it...YES! Borrowed a plain, paper coffee filter and did two wraps of liner...bit of flooding.
Cut another strip and did two more, currently vaping away on a 1.5 ohms coil at 10 watts.
Good Lord, will the genius never end?
Kudos to you LVM!

After a few minutes, started getting dry hits, disassembled coil and removed added wrap.
Back down to two wraps of liner, no flooding and hitting like a champ! Must have messed up
and accidently fixed it the second time...still testing.

The question is, is it going to last? It's paper, after all...

Having said that, I just received what seems to be a lifetime supply of non-woven gauze. ;)

Love you, Cheechako!

I guess it's time to rebuild something. :toast:

Like I said, the light will darken the nicotine.

No idea what it can do to added (artificial?) colorings in e-juices...

But my experience is that strong sunlight (as opposed to normal sunlight over a long time) turns the liquid completely clear, It does not darken it at all. Is it the concentration of the light that has this effect? Who knows. :)

I am so glad you received it, I was beginning to think the puffy envelopes were
suspicious and being held!
Oh my goodness, getting a little light headed from puffing away trying to make this coffee filter liner go dry.
Maybe I'll set it aside for now and test the flooding aspect.

Beats me. I live in California so we don't even have (English) normal sunlight here. :)

I have my clear tanks with me all the time--on the beach, in my garden, in my car. Nothing ever turned clear in my 5+ years of vaping...

Fair enough. I wonder what caused it?

Honestly, not a fan of those. They are easy, but you can't put any tension on your coils, and tension is critical.

Just my :2c:
I ordered one in a co-op with some Tanks. I think they will work great from videos.:2c: Building tight coils seems to give better flavor and last longer for me. But that could just be my perception:D

In your nightmares
Cheech I got mine today also thank you, I have 4 days off starting friday to start doing 1 or 2 rebuilds. I think I am going to do 1 wire on a 2mm screw driver and another on a 3mm to see which is better, I think the 3mm is close to a 5/32 drill bit. To tired to try tonite, have not had a day off for over a week so I could have 4 days off fri-mon :)
