iStick Amnis 2 was an ideal and effective starter kit for those who wanted to quit smoking and had good sales success. Then after quite a long time comes the revamped Eleaf iStick Amnis 3 Kit which maintains mini size and boasts a sleek and streamlined design with minimalist beauty. You just need to click the adjust button and select one of the 3 available output voltage levels, then start vaping according to your preference. The Eleaf iStick Amnis 3 Kit is compatible with all Eleaf GS coils, a platform of suitable coils to meet different nicotine intake needs, and the flavor has increased compared to the past thanks to the new GS Drive Tank which is clearly designed for MTL/RDL extractions. The Gs Drive Tank also adopts a mechanism for refilling e-liquid with childproof opening / closing.
► Eleaf iStick Amnis 3 kits; Internal battery:
The internal battery has a capacity of 900mAh and adopts USB-C charging. Eleaf declares a recharge time of around 1 hour, which should correspond to a vape duration of around 2 days. Of course, these data vary according to the frequency of use and the coil used.
The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom and allows you to recharge the internal 900mAh battery in about 1 hour. The base of the mod has 3 important safety holes for battery ventilation, also always on this surface there are the "CE" mark and the disposal logo. In the upper part the 510 spring pin is gold plated and is in an almost central position, designed to house the small Gs Drive Tank or any other atomizer (Max 18mm in diameter without protrusions).
I received two different iStick Amnis 3 specimens for this test; one in an elegant "Coffee" colorway and the other in a bright "Red" colorway with hints of purple. The iStick seen from the side shows two different colors; black for the plastic parts, while the reference color was used for the metal parts. The assembly is good and there are no imperfections. On one side there is the vertical writing "Eleaf iStick Amnis 3". In the complete view of this Kit with the Gs Drive tank installed, the shape appears pleasant, slim and slender upwards, resulting in good ergonomics of the device in the hand.
The back side (handle) is smooth and rounded. On the front side, the position of the fire button is convenient, under the button there is a LED that sends protection notifications and information on the current battery charge level.
Under the Fire button there is a display on which the letters that will correspond to the value of the selected voltage will be displayed, the 3 delivery modes can be selected by the user by simply clicking on the Mode button below the display.
The 3 output modes are:
• L (bass)
• M (medium)
• H (high)
The control of Amnis-3 takes place substantially through these two 2 keys. The fire button is used to turn on/off the device (5 clicks) and of course to vape. Then the battery status indicator (Led) is activated when you press the fire button, if the led is green it means that the battery charge is between 60 and 100%, if it is blue it is between 20 and 59% , if it is red the charge is less than 20%.
►GS Drive Tank Childproof:
The renewed GS Drive tank compared to the previous I-10 tank implements the "childproof" safety system, the sturdy metal button allows the top cap to slide back when pressed for easy access to the filling operations. Although small in size, the new GS Drive atomizer appears expertly designed for easy use even for those new to the vape world.
The 16.5mm diameter tank has the 510 thread to be installed on any Mod, it also appears robust with its metal structure. The only two out of tune notes seem to be the proprietary drip tip which cannot be replaced with the classic 510 drip-tips. Furthermore, it is impossible to replace the glass in case of breakage without necessarily buying a new GS Drive Tank.
The lower base which also acts as an AFC must be unscrewed to allow the housing of the coil, the coil in turn must be screwed into the base. The GS Drive tank comes with two new coils, but also supports all other GS Air coils to allow the user to find their ideal setting.
The ring nut for air-flow control is equipped with rotation stops and can adjust two opposing slots, therefore the ring can be rotated to choke the air inlet to your liking. The rotating ring system guarantees a good draft seal, and seems well thought out for MTL/RDL type extractions.
► Eleaf iStick Amnis 3 kits; Vape test and Final conclusions:
For this test I used one of my favorite e-liquids, Tropical Hypnos diluted 10% in a 50/50 VG/PG base with 3mg/ml of boost.
• 0.75Ω GS Air Coil:
The 0.75Ω head-coils are of the type with kanthal wire, its range of use is between 8 and 25W. The yield in general is good for MTL and with small openings of the AFC the shot is warm and substantial with a moderate hit in the throat. By selecting the "H" value, this coil unleashes a surprising power allowing quite satisfying RDL extractions in combination with large AFC ring openings.
• 1.4Ω GS Air Coil:
Eleaf GS Air 1.4Ω Mesh-Coil in kanthal; with a range of use indicated between 6-12W it certainly appears suitable for a restricted type of MTL vape in combination with small openings of the AFC ring. Soft shooting, low vapor heat and small e-liquid consumption, these are its main features.
In conclusion I liked this iStick Amnis 3 Mod for a number of reasons; for the minimalist and elegant line, for the great general ergonomics, and for the presence of 3 selectable power options. I also appreciated the small GS Drive Tank for its constructive care, and for the effective Childproof locking system. Furthermore, the coil platform is really wide, and the supplied coils seem just right for a satisfactory use from MTL to RDL. In my opinion, this kit has many merits, and I have not found any defects. Of course, one could argue that the tc, a regenerable base, or other functions are missing, but we would be talking about a much higher price range and not very suitable for those who want to start vaping without difficulty. If you are looking for an excellent entry level kit with an affordable price and great ease of use; Eleaf iStick Amnis 3 I recommend it, because this Kit is for you!
