A small few* are having leaking issues with their Bachelors & Nanos. I'm not one of them.
I use my Nano all day, every day and before the crackdown I'll buy another.
No problem with my full size either, but I'm liking these small tanks and top-fill makes dealing with the miniscule 2ml capacity... tolerable.

*There are three, maybe four, in the B thread but it's not clear if there's a QC problem or an O-Ring issue (same thing really) or something else.
They're not inexperienced either... poor wicking is unlikely (that would be my excuse :p ).
It's a puzzler.

Recieved my all brushed pico earlier today, best $37 I've spent in a long time! Still having a hard time convincing myself that this is a replaceable 18650 mod!

When I take a puff on the Pico, the screen stays lit for over 30 seconds…seems excessive….uses battery life too I'll bet….can this be lowered in settings?

Not until patches come out for that, no. Unfortunately it's not *that* configurable as it comes stock IINM.

On the plus side, it IS using the stock Joyetech one-size-fits-all chip and patches are already out (through NFWE) for the other mods using the chip (VTC/Cuboid/RX200) so it should be a matter of time.

That said, looking through the RX200 custom FW files (the "nearest" mod to us as far as the display goes), the only relevant existing patches (so far) has to do more with adjusting the display brightness than the display timeout.

I'd like to try TC mode on my pico, but have no idea what ist the best tank and coil to begin with.
As there are several possibilities (Ti, SS, Ni...) do you guys have any recommendations ?
It's preference. I didn't like nickel. I'm allergic to Titanium. SS is where I landed.

Just got my "grey" Pico last week and have been using only SS 316L at around 1.1 ohms in wattage, Ni, & SS. I set tcr1 to 316L, tcr2 to 304, & tcr3 to Ni. I use wattage when I want to save my battery. In SS & tcr1, I really have to crank the temps up (400F+) for these. In tcr2 380-400F. In Ni & tcr3 270F. All running at 10W 28 Ga in a fev3. I prefer lower temps and SS and can go above 1 ohm on the Pico.
Just my .02cents

SS TC with the OG Avocado RDTA is my daily driver setup right now on the Pico, running dual 316L SS 26AWG 2.5mm contact coils (7/8 wraps = 0.22 ohms), wicked with Kendo Gold cotton.

I chose SS simply because I didn't want to fiddle with the fragility of Ni or the "supposed" hazards of Ti. And the Pico does SS, so that clinched the deal.

Settings on the Pico for my setup: SS TC mode, 450-480F, 35W. Gives me one or two harsh toots after leaving the mod for some time (as the wicks "refresh" themselves with new juice from the tanks), after that it's all smooth flavourful clouds.

Personally, I find the 'Cado gives me the closest approximate to the effortlessness I had back during my TFGT days - coil, wick and go with a minimum of fuss. So yeah, I'm sticking with it... at least until something better comes along.

Plus, flavour for days, lol... and - thanks to the wonders of TC (also the "supposed" longevity of the Kendo stuff) - my wicks stay "acceptably vapable" for a decent amount of time (1-2 weeks, depending on juice).

As for battery life, I haven't seen too much of an impact. So far with the setup above the Pico still gets me through 1.5-2 days of normal use (roughly), though it might have lasted a liiiittle bit longer with my old GobMiniV2 with 0.4-0.5 kantal dual contact coils if my failing memory serves me right.

SS is the best choice in my opinion. You can run it in both Power & TC mode. The flavor on SS is also very good. I have now settled in to only using SS on all my RTAs.

You can use any mini tank on the Pico. But my favorite is the Serpent Mini. Great performance and flavor. Looks beautiful on the Pico as well.

It's not doing what you think it's doing, and you're not vaping at the temperature you think you are.

It's a trick from early last year (or earlier) that started with using titanium in Nickel TC Mode (no Ti TC yet, then) and turning the set temp down by 70-100F.

Later last year, we did the same but with SS in Ti TC Mode (again... no SS TC Mode yet) and turning the temp down about 100F.

If you're putting Ni TCR values into the third mem slot you could just as easily use the built-in Ni TC Mode. Though SS in Ni TC Mode, on a budget mod, is an iffy proposition... I've run out of temp adjust at the lower limit on some of mine. It was just an experiment... Ti mode works fine with the trick though (for SS).

Or use an SS TCR value and turn the temp down to where you prefer.
By using an incorrect TCR value... you change the temp calculation, and possibly lose some dry hit protection (that's speculative, not sure to be honest).

On the up side... it's nice (as you've noticed) that JoyeTech has raised the TC mode resistance ceilings for budget TC mods. Used to be 1.0 I believe... now it's 1.5 ohm.

Has anyone in this thread gotten the Full Black Pico yet?

I'm seeing a fair amount of SS's, but I'd love to know what the finish it like on the full black. It looks like it has more texture than the regular black version.

I got a full black Pico recently. I was worried about the reports of discoloration/tarnish affecting other Pico finishes. I'm happy to report that the all black finish is gorgeous. It's matte and and not slippery at all (less shiny than iSticks). It's almost identical to the all black finish of my eVic VTC mini. Similar to the classic black finish of eGo batteries. Very nice.

YES! I love that VTC finish- this was exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks!

Wish I knew what it's doing.

Been doing that with my DNA 40 with SS.

I've run out of temp adjust at the lower limit on some of mine. It was just an experiment... Ti mode works fine with the trick though (for SS).

The Ni mode is slightly under the TCR Ni mode. The TCR Ni mode runs a little hotter. I Got the TCR values from Djlsb,

Or use an SS TCR value and turn the temp down to where you prefer.
By using an incorrect TCR value... you change the temp calculation, and possibly lose some dry hit protection (that's speculative, not sure to be honest).

I haven't had any problems with dry hits.

On the up side... it's nice (as you've noticed) that JoyeTech has raised the TC mode resistance ceilings for budget TC mods. Used to be 1.0 I believe... now it's 1.5 ohm.

I'll just have to wait till more (precise) devices become available but I'm pretty happy with the Pico with its small size and interchangeable battery.

It's plenty accurate. I believe quite so, according to Djlsb.

If you're running 316 with a nickel TCR (~600 whatever), when it hits a temp protect set at 270F... you're actually right back around 450F where you'd probably be if you ran it in either SS TC or with a TCR around 100 (+/- 10). But doing so inaccurately.

You say you're familiar with the trick from your DNA40 (SS in Ti mode).
But you don't, or shouldn't, want it with a working SS TC or even better... TCR Adjust.

And the Pico has both.

Does anyone know where i can buy a full stainless brushed finish pico? The newest color.

The only place I see one is from vapenw but i do not want the tank with it.

Do I have to purchase it with a tank?

edit: nevermind, after some digging i found at rockymountainvapor they are selling the kits for 29$ free shipping with coupon code 'president'

what a deal! This kit is without the tank though, which is perfect for me.
