In this picture you can see the Good Friends of Vapers, the Pico family...

In the picture down, the original Pico 75 compared to a Dicodes Dani mini and a smok Qbox,

and in this other pictures, compared to two more small boxes, the smok g-priv 2 mini and the EVic Primo Fit...

It is good fun, enjoy...

Just a heads up. I managed to find in-stock Pico's domestically. Decent prices. Perhaps one or both of these will have Labor Day sales IDK. I'm going to grab a couple more for my stash.

Thank you! I did use some alcohol on a Q-tip this evening and the pin seemed to loosen up a bit. But, for real, I will be on the hunt for a back up during the holiday weekend. I find the Pico to be the perfect rig for my needs.

    Smart Mode - Temperature
    I'm a bit of a Pico 75 loyalist...makes life simple.
My preferred mode is Smart. It seems to give me the best hits. However, I have some concern about temperatures under Smart Mode. I sometimes get some significant 'hot bites' when using Smart. While I realize there is no direct control of temperature in Smart, I wonder if eLeaf has built anything in for that. Otherwise, can someone point to any information or postings about temperatures obtained under Smart Mode? I also wonder if there is any indirect way of controlling temperature in Smart Mode.

Hi. From everything I've done with the Pico "Smart" just autodetects which atty you have on via previously set resistance of the atty. So if you had a Melo with .5 ohms on and switched to another tank with .4 ohm coil, it will detect it and change settings accordingly. Obviously this isn't absolute and I have mine set to change if more than 10% variance is detected in resistance of the coil. I do this with Artic fox firmware.

I highly recommend upgrading to Artic fox firmware on the Pico. Not only does it allow you to improve functionality significantly, it teaches you a lot about how the device works in temp mode. I have some vidies on here somewhere of just that.

Al least that is the experience I had with it. Love my Pico too : )

Thanks for the information, Kennneth. I used Artic Fox some time back. Perhaps it is time I revisited it.

My vaping has become quite simplified and unfiddly and I have liked Smart Mode for that reason. However it wouldn't hurt me to revisit Artic Fox.

One of my Pico 75s appears to have rust on the threads of the battery cap. It's been out of the rotation for probably two years because I misplaced it during a move. I used vodka on a q-tip to clean it, and that helped, but the threads are still a bit dark, and in a couple of places it still looks rusty. Should I oil it? What should I do? Has anyone else experienced this?

Vaporl has Pico 75's in stock in Gray, Red, and Silver. I order three new Pico 75's from Vapor recently and all are genuine. I opened and tested each one and packed them back up for apocalypse backup.

I took a chance on an Ebay Pico deal recently and it was a fake. The menu didn't have a wattage setup (4 clicks) for TC mode and the display was slanted. Ebay issued credit for it and I went to Vaporl and ordered three.

Never had rust. I've had a Pico apparently die. The contacts and threads looked clean as a whistle but I cleaned them anyway. I did the cap and the mod threads with Isopropyl and it started working again.

I don't think alcohol is going to help with rust. It's good for shifting gunk and so forth but not rust.

For cleaning rusty threads I would normally use WD40 and a small wire brush. WD loosens rust. You need the wire brush or something similar to get all the way into the threads. Spray the WD onto a cloth and rub it on. If you spray it directly onto the mod threads it could end up getting into all sorts of wrong places. That should work in a mod as long as you get it cleaned out good afterwards. Maybe stuff a rag in the battery compartment first to stop the WD40 and rust getting inside.

After cleaning you could put something like Ox Guard on the threads. Don't think I did that, but it should be good for keeping the rust away.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you very much. I knew oil is a good fix for rust, but I had no clue about what type of oil to use. I've got a bottle of WD 40 already. It's good stuff! I've also got plenty of wire brushes for cleaning coils. I will definitely use a cloth to apply the WD40, stuff a cloth inside the battery chamber, and give the threads a good workover with my coil brush. Thanks again for the great advice and tips!!

I'll swing by Home Depot tomorrow for some Ox Guard. Now, is the time to keep the vape gear in tip top shape!

I did the same a few weeks back, just to have on hand. They arrived about a week ago, and all are in perfect working condition.

Strange experience with a Pico tonight. I dug one out that had been sitting on my desk for while and the battery cap wouldn't come off. Had to use pliers. The threads were full of some white gunk. I scraped most of it off with a wire brush and a dental pick but the threads were still grungy so I decided to try cleaning them with alcohol. That got the threads pretty clean.

Then I noticed the paint on the inside of the battery compartment had stripped off at the top where I had rubbed it with the alcohol on a paper towel. It was a white Pico and the inside was painted white, not shiny like the outside but a dull flat finish, like maybe a primer coat.

No idea what happened. Could be juice got under the cap. The white gunk in the threads might have been rubbed off paint. I'll use it for a while and see what happens.

Agree with most of that Mick, but I think Ox Guard is really only for aluminum. I could be thinking of Noalox, though. But if the cap is rusting, it won't be aluminum. Maybe something like lithium grease, that stays more "solid" than other oils/lubricants, and won't seep to places it shouldn't be, esp. when it warms up? Definitely good advice you gave to wipe it on, rather than spraying it in there.
