With the FDA Dooming Regulations I figure it's time to check out rebuilding...

When I searched for Wotofo Serpent Mini a number of sites listed it as: "Extremely easy to build"...

For someone who's never rebuilt a coil...is it something one could "handle" (with a couple YouTube videos)???

Vapecrawler

..
The Serpent tank is my favorite. I find it easy to build on, although the posts are slanted and that makes it a little strange at first.

The Bellus also has a "single coil adaptor" block... and a Velocity deck.

I love the vape I get from mine both single and dual, though others will prefer the more open build space of some of the larger RTAs out there. YMMV.
Thanks. I'll also look at that one.

I swore off eleaf products after 3 isticks bit the dust in quick order however I like what I see with the Pico form and function and Im thinking of picking up a few. Is there any issues or complaints yet that would warrant me to pass them by? Im guessing any small issues could/would be solved with a firmware update? The one thing that stands out is the battery cap looks kind of thin and cheap and maybe prone to stripping easy? Thanks for any advice!

The two biggest complaints I have seen, and have had with mine.
In wattage mode it drifts. Not a lot, but it's annoying, I set it at 22w yesterday afternoon and it's down to 21.5w this morning. No real rhyme or reason to it, it just does it! Set it up with SS in TC mode and it runs just fine!
The other is the power button, you have to be very deliberate with your clicks to get it off and on and switch modes. Too fast or too slow and it wont recognize what you want. That can become annoying!

I hope you folks have better luck wicking those Goblin Mini v2's and Pico tanks then I did. Bought 2 GM's, and one Pico clone with pre-built coil adapter, no wicking needed when using the adapter, tank dumped the entire juice tank overnight. Not much better with the GM V2, leaked. Put both away had to go back to leak less tanks like my Cubis, and new Eleaf Leyche tanks. Probably just me.

I'm learning with the GM V1 that more is better with the wicking! Stuff as much wick in there as you can! I cut the wick long enough to go all the way down the juice channels and it's better, but still floods if I draw to hard on it. Next time I'm going even longer.

I asked this question in a "Safe Batteries" thread but I also wanted to get opinions in this thread as well...

I just found a package of new batteries that was purchased back in 2013. They have never been used or taken from the original packing.

EH IMR 18650, LiMn 2000mAH 3.7V flat top

Will they be safe to use?

My current devices for possible use are...

Eleaf Pico 75W
Evic VTC mini 75W
Provari P3

I only use wattage mode between 8-11 watts, using resistances between 1.5-1.8 ohms.

I'm an old school MTL vaper, lol

Should I trash or are they safe to use? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

A 4.5 A cell?

I wouldn't get them anywhere near a 75w mod... just to be safe.

If I had a modest 18650 flashlight, I'd check 'em on a charger, and use them in that.
They are actually rated at 15amps discharge, but still on the low side for a 75w mod.

I would only trust those on this list:

I mis-read the page I found... it says 4.5A "max charging rate".

I wouldn't do that to a poor little 18650. :p
I figured that's what you had done! No biggie, just wanted to represent them as they are, even though they aren't good enough for that chore!
I wouldn't pitch them, depending on what other mods you have they may work in them, or as suggested, great in a flashlight. They might even come in handy in a pinch sometime, just remember to not run them over around 35w just for CYA.

I never found the G.mini leaking v1 or v2. The melo 3's I have haven't leaked yet. I put them away for the serpent mini's which I like a heck of alot. Sorry no leaks here. You sure the tank seals are in place correctly?

I'm fighting it as well! I thought I had it licked, but it stated leaking again today. It's not around the seals, it's right out of the air holes. I'm going to try to re-wick it again with cotton bacon this time, and go even bigger on the wick in hopes to clear it up.

The Bellus os a great tank, always on top of my vtc but... The deck it's not velocity style! It has 2 posts with one hole each, so to mount dual coil both coils have to be tighten at the same time.

You are correct.
Also, the screws come down through the post, not in from the outer edge... which oddly, probably makes it easier to trap multiple wires, depending on the screw end that is.

I think I was lumping all two post decks together as "Velocity style" vs. the three post style.
I tend to do that... I prefer them and have them, in various form, in multiple RDAs and tanks.
Now I'll have to remember to think about it when I next service each... and see how close they hold to the original. :D

I haven't notice the clicking issue, but dropping wattage in .1 increments is due to swapping coils (tanks) for some reason. Luckily, it's upgradable.

My Pico doesn't have either of these issues, so they're not consistent to the model.

I have lost track of who all has mentioned the clicking issue, but I definitely have that. Turning it on or off is no problem, but when switching modes or the wattage in temp mode I have to try multiple times to get it where I want and often turn it off in the process. :?:

Idk if it's something that can be fixed with an upgrade but I'm hoping so. I haven't had the wattage decreasing issue myself though.

I'm sure real RTA's are more flavorful then most of my little tanks with prebuilt coils, but I can't risk the leaky ones as I travel. For me I don't have the time or patience to play with wicking over and over, and still not have 99.9% confidence it's not going to leak again. While not flavor monsters, the Cubis, Melo 3, and the new Eleaf Lyche, have never leaked a single drop on me. I'm hoping my new Kayfun v5, does not leak, according to those that have them in hand already. And they have been making these popular RTA's for a long time. It is however a tall tank at 60mm. A Cubis is only 40mm to the top of tank. Someday, when I'm bored and have play time I'll revisit the Goblin Mini 3, and Pico tank, but doubt I'll ever put them in a pocket or bag again.
