What we don't know is how much boost the circuit board provides. As with the dna I previously mentioned, the board itself will only pull 23 amps from the batteries, but the board will fire far beyond 23 amps. That's from the boost circuit. The missing part of the equation for the Pico is how many amps does the board pull from the battery? I'm thinking it's in the 18-20amp range (purely a guess, but a 30A battery? Never). The buck/boost circuit does the rest.

The thing all those articles don't take into account is the amp limit on the device. Again I'll use the DNA 200 as an example because we know what it's amp limit is (23A). If you try to fire the device at a wattage that requests 23A from the battery, it fires without issue if your batteries have enough power to output the 23 Amps. If your batteries cannot give the full 23A being requested, you get "Battery Low". Now keep in mind, this is 23A being requested. Not 23A being output to your atomizer. There is a difference because of the boost circuitry. But regulated mods have an amp limit. Knowing what that is, tells you what batteries are safe in the mod. The chip will never request more than that amperage. No matter what your voltage is.
But back to the original question...we have no idea what the amp limit is on the Pico. But throwing a 30A battery in there is waaaay overkill.

I ordered two picos one for me and one for my wife. I don´t vape at 75w so I don´t see a problem at short runtime. Let's see how it compares to my Provari Radius. I really ordered the pico for its size
I really like mine with a Kayfun Mini v3. Using a .5 ohm clapton at 20watts MTL. Awesome little setup that fits in my pocket and lasts all day long.
There's good reason to believe that all the current stable of JTech TC mods are sharing the same basic chip and board (JT VTC, Wismec RX and Presa, Eleaf iStick and possibly the new Wismec VapeForwards) and that the onboard amp limit is 25A.
Just got my White Pico today and so far I'm loving it. I love the size my hands are big so it took me awhile to find a good position to hold in my hands. I own a eVic mini and both devices are VERY similar(made by same company
) but the Pico seems to be horrible with battery life! I find I have to swap the batteries on my Pico way more then my EVic mini on comparable settings overall I really like it for its power,convenience,easy-of-us and its size. If you like the eVic mini you will like the Pico and vice-versa. I'm going to order another one soon but so many colors to choose from

I had in the mail today the ECR head for the Melo 3 rebuild---- I have not rebuilt it yet, just tossed in the stock 1ohm that was in it to try it out, seems to fit and work like pretty well.
I noticed the difference in battery drain as well. With my VTC Mini, two batteries get me through the entire day. But with the Pico, I need 3 batteries to get me through the day. I guess the fact that the battery is so close to the tank and heats up more might be affecting its efficiency.Just got my White Pico today and so far I'm loving it. I now want one more Pico. But I'm unable to decide between the Black and White versions. Can anyone who has a black one tell me how it holds up to scratches? I guess scratches would not be that visible on the white version. Then again I could be wrong. Any thoughts?
I want to pull the rigger on a Pico, but my previous experience with iSticks has me a little concerned.
Hey guys. My friend thinks his Pico is acting funny and I want to know if this is normal.
So he has the Pico with an LG HG2 battery just like I do. He vapes with an Aspire Triton at 45 watts. He vaped it until it was dead. He plugged it in for a few minutes, and I asked him why he wasn't using his passthrough. He said it's cuz it wouldn't let him. I saw him try it, and indeed it did not work. So you can't get a Pico to fire on a weak battery even if it's plugged in?
After it had been charging for a while, it would fire. However, it would say "weak battery" or "low battery" after every puff. I forget which one. I switched it to bypass mode and it was reading 3.4 volts. According to spec, it's not suppose to say low/weak battery until it gets to 2.9v. 3.4 seems like it's in the normal vaping range. It was still plugged in at this point.
So is this normal, or is it defective? I've never had this problem because I've never drained the battery below 3.6 before. Also, I only vape 7 watts, not 45 like my friend does.
I spoke to the company I bought it from, and he said he would replace it if I sent it to him and he deemed it defective. I would have to send it first though, so I want to know if this is normal or not before I waste a lot of time and trouble.

I've never tried pass through when the battery was completely drained. Could be a safety feature that the mod prevents you from using pass through until it reaches a certain voltage.
When the battery on my Pico drains out completely, it stops firing and displays "Lock" when I press the fire button. It happened only once as I usually swap the battery well before it is completely drained.

I THINK it is how it is supposed to be
"TRUE" passthru would mean you could use device WITHOUT battery
and just the USB plugged in (which they won't)
passthru in this case (my thoughts) is that when you plug USB in
the UNIT DOES NOT shut off so you can't use it
BUT IF BATTERY is not above Safe Cut-Off limit, unit will not fire...
same with most all of these devices
didn't say that very well, but that's what I think is going on...
